Forgive me if this has been asked, I searched and couldn't find it. Is hasbro bi-polar? Generations starts, then all of a sudden it's reveal the shield with new rub symbols (which suck by the way compared to the usual ones even in the classics), then now with generations wheeljack, maybe others I"m not sure, it's back to no rubsymbol and regular generations. Which is fine, I'm not a rub sym fan and wheeljack looks awesome, but does anybody get a rhyme or reason to it?

Generations and Reveal the Shield are two separate lines running simultaneously. Only the RTS releases have the rub signs. Generations figures do not.

Reveal the Shield and Generations are two completely separate lines, and Generations didn't end when RtS began. RtS is a continuation of the HftD/Yellow Box line, and is a catch all for both movie and classics styled figures. Generations continued on along side it, it never stopped, and won't be stopping for a while.

ok, but then who decides which ones are RTS or not? Considering Jazz, tracks, wheeljack, etc are all core gen 1 homages I guess I just didn't get why it was jumping around within that same group, oh well.

Well, marketing decides that. Design team makes the toys and marketing sells them to retailers.

    Rubsigns suck anyway.

No rub symbols in Generations. They suck anyways. In my experience once rub symbols get too cold (ie: sitting on a shipping truck in winter) they stop working. My RTS Rodimus's didn't work fresh out of the package. And I'm curious as to what the OP thinks bipolar means. :lol

I think the reason so many people are getting the lines confused is because this is the first time that you've had two lines competing that were pretty much identical. Every other time we've had two lines going simultaneously they have been different styles. That's also why people who collect just Classics figs are feeling the wallet crunch right now

Yep...it good and bad at the same time. But, IMHO, I think I wouldn't want it any other way. We managed to get more figures available to us this way without them being drowned out by yet another movie line.

This seems stupid to me too. When Classics came along back in... 2006? I loved the return of the rubsigns. Then that line became Generations, but at the loss of the rubsigns.

Now RTS has them, but Generations do not? Silly.

I think this wierd crossover is an attempt to prevent the sales of post movies figures sliding. I mean, we all remember the shelfwarming post 2007LA movie Allspark figs, and even HFTD shelfwarms.

Arguably some of Reveal the shield is Movie toys (especially Mindset, Strafe, & Fallback) and it's just the continuation of HFTD.

But since Wheeljack is one a red card he shouldn't have a rubsign - though why anyone wants one of them to the exclusion of normal logos on a vehicle Transformer I don't have a clue. If they bug me I take them off.

speaking of which, did anyone else get a RTS Jazz with no rub symbol?

I got mine loose and while the toy was in great condition (and still is) but the rub sign was missing, could it be one of those stolen off the assembly line or factory reject or something like that?
