Are we ever going to get a boxed collection for R.I.D. or no?

If not, does anyone know why?

That show was entertaining, I have it on torrent but would love to have it on dvd

    Thanks

RID is owned by Disney. I don't think they have plans on releasing RID onto DVD anytime soon.

RID was dubbed and aired by Saban, which is now owned by Disney. So Disney has the rights to RiD and Disney doesn't really bother with putting cartoon series on dvd.

Animated season 3 is in limbo since Paramount lost the rights to put Transformers on dvd.

I think last report a while back had Disney as holding the rights to RID, probably picked up along with some other bigger-ticket dubbed anime titles they were wanting to get their hands on. As for TFA season 3, Paramount let the rights expire before they could finish releasing them. I don't know for sure, but I'm going to guess that lukewarm sales are the reason why we haven't seen either of them announced yet. With titles like Ben 10 and Bakugan out there I doubt there's much market for TF DVDs other than geeks like us.

Check your DVD or BD player's capabilities. You could burn the AVIs to a data DVD/CD and play them that way.

It's feel and looks like a Boxset.

RiD episodes are one of those few cases where there's no apparent market to have profit stolen on, so there's other means to get what you're looking for. Not that I'm suggesting anything.

I thought Hasbro got the rights back to all of their shows last year as a prelude to the new channel. Or it could be the broadcasting rights, not necessarily DVD rights.

While Disney owns the rights to the cartoon, Hasbro would take umbrage (i.e. legal action) with another company selling something with "Transformers" splashed all over the packaging that they hadn't licensed. Perhaps the original deal with Saban only extended to broadcast rights?

Either way I don't see Disney opening that can of worms. Any legal action by Hasbro towards Disney would most likely kill any profit Disney might see from releasing RID on DVD.
