I was doing some shopping at Ralph's the other day, the awesome kind that carries toys. Usually some activators, but I figured I could use a good Ratchet.
Amazingly I saw the HFTD packaging and it turned out to be of Sidearm Sideswipe, the figure I'd been seeking for months!
Of course it was overpriced. The next day I went to Target and they didn't have it.

    How did Hasbro taunt you?

Sounds like Ralph's taunted you. I hate places that overprice stuff.

    $15.
I'm not gonna pay the price of a HA figure at Ross when it costs 9 at Target.

EDIT: Whoops never mind, missed a post.

But still, $15? Big deal, I paid $25 for mine, the same price Australia charges for every deluxe ('cept for some places that charge about $30). 15 bucks to me would be an unfathomable bargain that I'd explode over before reassembling myself and buying everything. True story.

Since when weren't figures overpriced at secondary retailers? Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls... Don't they all throw a couple bucks on the going price at Target, Walmart, etc.?

Jeezus, it's not like he hid it, yet know one seems to want to bother reading. His post said it: Ross.

Ross has had HA at $15 for a while now. Marshall's carries them for $19. I got HA BB, SS, Barricade and Skids all at Ross for $15 each.

I, too, refuse to pay more than $11 or so for a deluxe.

That's one of those times that you have to make a decision. Buy it there and have it over and done with, or chance that it might not be there when you return, and go check out a less expensive locale. If you've been looking for it for months, you might as well have went ahead and picked it up from Ralph's. Sometimes, a $6 difference can be pretty inconsequential when you consider you can get it out of the way on the spot.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I do admire your ability to hold yourself to your original price limit. Besides, I'm sure they'll be warming in saturation sooner or later and you'll get him then.

That's like asking a dog if they can't talk.
It's slightly contadictory but the answer is yes.

Marshalls and TJmaxx seem to have some animated voyagers at 12.99, HA @ 19.99 and even some deluxe at 9.99 (i think). I've seen scouts at mine for like 7 and star wars crossovers for 7.99 (both of these @ tjmaxx). So while they might not have the greatest selection its a pretty good price.

if i saw a deluxe i had been looking for at a store that was charging $15, i would of snagged it anyway, that is still a good price for the toy, look what other people in the world are paying for transformers.....retail for transformers normally is pushing $15 in america (right now stores are charging around $9 but it is normally $13)

if it had been a terradive or generations dirge, i would of bought it without even really looking at the pricetag, i want those bastards BAD (thank god for tfsource having that case with dirge and blurr with skullgrin, cliffjumper, and thunderwing! i would of been screwed if they didn't)
