I understand that Blackout is an awsome character, with his desgin and all, but do really need a leader Blackout? I don't own a Blackout, but I do own a Evac, and I rather like the mold. How many other molds have a equipable Bazooka?

Blackout has Scorponok in lieu of the raft-gun.

I'd say A. Because he's huge B. He's been in both movies in some form now (instant repaint) and C. It's an awesome design that the Voyager toy doesn't adequately capture. Plus, ILM seems to be using a modified body with his face as their "standard protoform Decepticon", so it's quite likely we'll see his design pop up again in the 3rd movie.

I think it's mainly a scale thing. Blackout is massive in the movie, yet he ends up being a fairly small Voyager toy. Frankly, I think the Voyager is fine, but I can see the advantage of a Leader size.

I agree. I don't see the need either. It's already been overdone.

Scale-wise, and that he's the first Transformer to appear in 2007 movie.

Same reason people want a Leader Lugnut, I guess.

So Blackout doesn't look completely silly next to an Autobot of larger than Legends-size? Also, he is the biggest Transformer in the movie franchise who's not a Constructicon. The three next-biggest all have current or announced Leader-toys.

Plus, frankly, I love the character but have heard lots of negative reviews of the toy. Don't need to have the Automorph break and cripple the transformation. Also off-putting to me is the toy's inability to use Blackout's trademark small-rotor weapon, instead having his whole back come off which, IMO, looks stupid. That's one reason why I think I'll just get the Animated Blackout to sate my love of the character.

If I ever do come into possession of a Blackout or Grindor, I'll probably keep him in alt-mode.

Because some people are never happy. They could release every character in every size and people would still find something to complain about.

Yeah, because scale has never been an issue before 2007.

    I wouldn't mind it.

    Better then Leader The Fallen.

Considering we have seen Blackout/Vortex/Grindor whatever you want to call him mold before for 2 movies.

It's probably a mile shot, but I wish they would make it.

Because a lot of Transformers fans are like spoiled children, no matter how much you give them they'll never be satisfied and always want more.

It all boils down to "Blackout BIG and toy not big!!"

I guess people have some restraint, because while a lot of people clamor for a Leader-size (if not bigger) Animated Lugnut, they could have easily lobbied for Leader-size toys for 80 percent of all Decepticons (and Constructicons, and Dinobots, and...)

I can only speak for me, and speculate based on my feelings to try to answer the OP. I'm a new collector, scale has always mattered to me to an extent, and I don't intend to buy the Voyager Blackout/Grindor despite liking the ILM design quite a bit. Couldn't promise I'd buy a Leader either because of money/space issues, but at least I'd be significantly more tempted.

If there was a new-mold Voyager I found acceptable, I would also buy it, but he'd need to be about as tall as Voyager Megatron and Starscream, have a tail-rotor weapon, and lack breakage issues.

I'm not "complaining," just explaining why I'd be willing to buy a hypothetical toy of the character, and why I'm not buying the toy that currently exists. :)

I certainly understand why Hasbro is releasing a repaint toy for a "repaint" character, and I definitely don't think they "owe" us a Leader Blackout. But it would be something cool.

EDIT: As for Lugnut, there is an assumption in every major line that Megatron and OP will define the Leader bracket (certainly with exceptions like Animated). When the show presents us a character like Lugnut that is significantly bigger than Megatron (and Bulkhead, another Leader), then it's natural to want a toy that at least tries to reflect that difference. That said, desire and expectation are very different things.

Well.. I've kind said that most decepticons from movie 1 should of been leader class anyway. Starscream is now getting a leader class figure, so that's awesome. I love scale and the "reality" of the movieverse, so a leader blackout that could hold the deluxe scorponok would be an ultimate figure in my mind. And while the voyager is a badass figure in its own rights, I was deffinately let down with the over all size of it. And the fact they could easily get atleast one repaint out of it would be a huge vantage point on hastakomy's part. However, my feelings are deffinately biased concidering I'm an accuracy nut :)
