I've been lucky today and managed to get one, albeit without his box or display stand on ebay for £21. But I've seen this guy go for well over £40 without his box!

Was he really that rare on release? I do remember seeing him in forbidden planet in Edinburgh way back when for £15 wish I bought him then but I guess I didn't do that bad in this auction!

I remember him being rather scarce. I was lucky to get The Fallen.

It might have had something to do with it being the first Ultra Magnus released since RID. I believe there was a repaint during the Unicron Trilogy.

Plus the titanium figure was faithful to the G1 figure/incarnation albeit with added articulation.

    There were many contributing factors.

    Congrats on your purchase.

He was released at the end of the line and didnt see alot of exposer in the stores. Just like windcharger and other RTS stuff that is out.

I didn't realize that Titanium Ultra Magnus was scarce and was bringing up a lot of money.

I had him for awhile, but I sold him a good couple of years ago. Forgot how much I sold him for, though.

    Where to begin...

    -He was very thinly distributed.
-Target was the only store still stocking 6-in. Titaniums.
-Add to that how he was released during the height of the 2007 movie madness when scalpers were lined up in front of stores every morning ready to buy up anything with the Transformers name on it.

I remember I spent well over a month checking Target nearly every morning for him. After finding a lone Fallen, I finally ended up checking a new, out-of-the-way Target and asking an employee about it. He brought a fresh case out and I bought mine. Never saw one after that.

Yeah I checked google shopping. He is currently in the $100+ range. Good luck to anyone looking to acquire him.

Holy crap! He's not even all that great; maybe I'll sell mine if he's going for that much.

Probably because a classics version was never released (except for the repaint) and people didn't want to pay for the extremely high prices for city commander. They then bought the probably discontinued Titanium version, decreasing source and increasing value.

    I think that's my theory.

He's pretty rare AND pretty awesome for a line that was very hit-and-miss.

I thought Rodimus was a better figure tbh. I mean, his knees bend the wrong way - sure, you can unscrew them open and turn around the proper way, but they're clearly molded the "wrong" way - and his shoulder rockets are upside down.

Still, Ultra Magnus was one of the line's better offerings, but his shoulder joints tend to be really loose. What do people use to fix ball joints again? Clear nail polish?

Yeah I remember him being kind of a crappy figure, especially for the Titanium's. I can't really explain the raise in price, other than the success of Generations/Classics/CHUG etc. bringing in more fans that want to hunt for him.

I never picked him up, but good score on yours!

He's lots of fun...I mean, fun for me because I sold mine for a nice profit, not fun for whomever bought him.

The toy is really junky. The price is only justified by the rarity.
