Soundwave made casette players cool.

Its the total package the look, voice, his position, and minions.

Because he's just that. Damn. Superior.

 

I can't put my finger on it, because he just has always come off to me as a bad ass.

 

Soundwave isn't as cool as Jazz (aka the most dope) TF but I guess launching little men and animals out of his chest is kinda cool.

I still don't see the big deal about him though (besides cassettes), and don't bother telling me about his voice and stuff.

 

He's just the shit. There is a reason why nobody messed with him. They always crossed Megatron but never Soundwave. They all knew better.

 

He was the true leader of the Decepticons, der. I mean, Megatron/Galvatron was only a figurehead for Soundwave's true power!

 

Soundwave superior! Why? Because...
In G1 he has an army of mini Cybertronians in his chest all with cool abilities, Soundwave is strong and in Ep 1 he beats back 3 Bots at once and then took down Ratchet and to take him down Hide had to attack from behind, Also on occasion Megatron has sent him and his minions to attack Prime and several Bot by themselves and SW is smart and can design a Space cruiser by himself.

TF Cybertron.
I have not seen in a while so I can not remember much of SW.
Soundwave was able to use laserbeak to create a smokescreen and confused the Bots with his imitation abilities and stuff.

In animated he led the robot revolutions and was able to control many machines. He even managed to take control of the Autobots. TFA SW was also able to make music evil and had Guitars that could turn into a condor and a ratbat.

In the Movie verse SW was an excellent hacker and had some of Frank Welker's best work. His mobilize line was simple but memorable.

War for Cybertron.
Soundwave was smart, a boss and had his Chest minions.

In TFP he is creepy and can look angry without a face or voice.

And also in G1, TFA and WFC his voice and face are Awesome.

 

Soundwave in G1 had a small army in his chest, a cool robotic voice and was great in intelligence gathering. Other than that he really was unchrasimatic.

 

But don't you see? His uncharismaticness makes him charismatic.

Soundwave has the strange distinction of being the robotic one among a crew of robots.

Plus, quoting from the old Tick cartoon, he's "full of tinier men!"
