Why is ROTF Starscream so much smaller?

    Looking at the starscream from the first movie and comparing it to the new one, I'm disappointed? I love the new design, but why so much smaller?

    because the robot mode had to fit in a jet mode without giant chunks of robot hanging off the bottom.

    They could have just scaled the jet up, but then he'd probably be too big/heavy for the voyager class, and they'd have to make a new class just for him.

    This exactly. To get a good jet mode while maintaining a decent robot mode, the size had to be sacrificed. I still think he's in scale with most figures though (sometimes bigger, such as compared to ROTF Megatron Voyager!)

    The Leader class should help those thirsting for size.

    yes but the leader one has more robot kibble in jet mode lol

    Not really "kibble". you can see the robot mode parts on the bottom of the jet, but it's pretty streamlined. nothing is hanging off it like TF1 starscream's arms, or ruining the shape of the jet like TF1 starscream's legs making it a big chunky thing.
