It was a limited release which many people (myself included) never saw at retail, and is substantially different from the PRID version of the character.

That's not bad for a FE.

Just a few days ago I saw a loose Vehicon go for over $70. Yeah it's maybe the second hardest to get right now... but loose going for that high of a price?

I do love how the scalpers are scooping up RID and trying to sell them for FE prices. Good luck with that.

I would really prefer the FE over PRiD Arcee, but I'm not paying way above retail, so PRiD for me.

Combination of lesser availability than anticipated, the RID mold being seen as possibly inferior, and some sort of popularity from Arcee being so heavily featured in the cartoon?

That said, i'm not sure if it's consistently getting anything close to that, so i might suggest simple impatience on the part of a few is also part of it?

What's the most difficult to find FE mold then?

I woudl've thought the fact there's no Hasbro version would make it the most difficult-to-get, but perhaps i'm wrong.

I would say the Vehicon is the most difficult to find mold.

Most of FE could be imported from China/HK and Canada. Most of FE from Canada, specifically.

Vehicon never made it to the US, nor Canada or China. Japan only and it sold out fast. It does seem to be the most difficult to find. It's one of those figures that if you didn't pounce on the BBTS listing, you were screwed.

    You'd be right, except Bulkhead.

Because when a product is cancelled that is still in demand, the price goes up.

The Bulkhead MOLD isn't too difficult, if you're willing to go with the Japanese version. Otherwise, you're probably right.

The more accurate (I think?) NA version though, is probably the most difficult FE to find. Even Canadians had difficulty finding them, since they were 1-to-3 in a case.

Takara Optimus is getting to be pretty difficult to find, too.

I actually like the RID a little better...it has a ton of back kibble but she looks more feminine

you gotta remember too that it costs $19.20 after taxes up here in Canada. so 25-30 dollars isn't a heinous markup.

The FE Arcee is a lot nicer than people give it credit. Despite the whole "back kibble" thing (let's face it, the RiD version isn't perfect in this regard either) and her size, she's a nice figure. The face looks better to me, and so does the paint job. Mind you, I don't have the RiD version to compare it with, but from what I've seen, it might not be worthy of replacing the FE version in my collection. It's still too big, isn't it? And the paint job looks cheap to me.

I might bite if Takara's version is nicer, but who knows at this point?

A lot of people are probably looking to complete their FE line. After Cliffjumper, Arcee seemed to be the least common of the deluxes (not counting the Vehicon, which didn't come out at all here).

$40 isn't horrible, it looks bad compared to regular us retail, but considering ebay/paypal going to take $6, it cost something like $20 at canadian retail, less the $7-8 shipping, the seller is left with $7-8 profit, which is really not bad to have some one to drive to and search through stores for your convenience. takara deluxe regularly cost $30 + $10 shipping, so it's alright in that perspective.

I think most people like the FE version better. I like her shade of blue more, the face sculpt is better, a bit less back kibble too. One thing the RID version has over FE is the more show accurate wings and chest, but she is also kibbletastic to pull this off.
