The unique designs are extremely original and the score is the most beautiful I've ever heard. Anyone agree?

I definitely agree on your points, but i personally just love the movies. The only thing i truly didn't like was some of the humor, otherwise they're my favorite movies period. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 them.

I'll agree that the designs were willing to take chances on iconic characters and completely change their aesthetics in a lot of ways, and that this paid off for many characters. If anything, I think I preferred some of the preliminary designs that were even more different from what we traditionally think of as "transformers" than what made it into the film, but there's probably a lot of good reasons they weren't used.

We've already seen the massive successes of some of the designs, and they've already endured and influenced Transformers for half a decade, and I think we'll see that influence continue.

The score, however, while stirring at times, I found completely forgettable. Not to disparage the work of Jablonsky, but I thought his stuff was just a pale shadow of scores by Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams. Not bad, but I don't think I'd rate it above "mediocre" in the grand scheme of things.

I think the movies were the best thing to happen for this franchise in a long time and introduced a whole new generation of kids to Transformers. If it wasn't for the live action movies, I wouldn't have gotten back into it. My son still doesn't show much interest in Star Wars and that sucks because I want to take him to see them in the theatre. At least he likes Transformers.

Love the movies. ROTF a bit less than 1 & 3, but I still love them. Do I want a different direction now? Yes, but I still like what we got.

edit: I also love the movies because they annoy people on this board to the point of hemorrhaging from their eyes.

"They say the empty can rattles the most."

Also, thanks Leather for starting the only non- "Am I the only one that hates...N$" thread. I think after the 670th iteration of those threads people would figure out that "No... you are not the only one that hates something about the movie." :lol

While there are things I didn't like there were aspects that I really enjoyed.

I liked that feeling of scale. With the cartoons you often didn't get that feeling of just how big the robots are. With the movies being mostly shot from the perspective of Sam or a Member of NEST you could get a feel of what it would be like to stand near one of the bots.

I agree it was some good choices on the score for the films as well.

The pan around of Optimus transforming on screen for the first time with the wheels locking into place will hold a place forever in my memory. It was one of those moments where absolutely no one breathes in the theater. (Two others that come to mind are the White House explosion* in ID4, and the Vader suit scene at the end of Revenge of the Sith.)

    *Hello, DHS bots.

Actually, the movie and it's transforming mechanics (like the one you described) instill a feeling of being a kid again because I can look at my own car and almost imagine how it would transform.

The score of the first movie is simply beautiful.

ROTF and DOTM are pretty darn generic tho, specially dislike how DOTM seems to use the same song remixed for all fights.

Yeah but the slow-version of the Arrival to Earth in DOTM was freakin' awesome!

DOTM had an amazing score. Sentinel Prime is amazing. A beautiful track. Also ''There is no Plan'', while it is a remix of Arrival to Earth it's a sad version of a song for a happy moment(autobots arrive) placed in a sad scene(autobots leaving)

I could care less about the score for the first two films, but you can't say that the score for DOTM was bad.

One of the few things I like about the movies is how damn fluid they made the TFs move.
