I hate Tech specs for one reason they make no sense how can a larger autobot have a strength of 8 yet a minicon have the same 8 these techs need to be more thought of before they are made

Yeah, sometimes I think they just throw darts to determine the numbers for some of the stats.

They exist so that the leaders for each side can have 10's on almost every stat.

It's not much different than the marvel cards used to be with their stat ratings

I always looked at the numbers as stats according to the character's size class. (with a few exceptions) If one would follow the Beast Wars scale of Micro - Mini - Basic/Scout - Deluxe - Mega/Voyager - Ultra - Super/Leader - Supreme - Ultimate, then all you'd need to do is shift the number up or down one by how far apart two toys were on the scale.

    For example...

If a deluxe bot had a strength of 8, than it would be a 7 when compaired to a Mega/Voyager and a 6 to an Ultra bot. It would be a 9 next to a Basic bot and a 10 when compaired to a Mini. (as a note, I count Mini-cons as Micros since most are about the same size as a Micromaster.)

The exceptions I would make are when the text part of the bio states that the character is exceptionally strong. (ie. Brawn)

they should have an extra stat for "size", fort max being a 10, minicons being 1, etc.

That, and when they give bios, they're usually a total contradiction to the cartoon character. At least for G1 anyway.

Ah, so the G1 toon didn't go by the characters of the toys... thanks, that explains a lot.

Don't forget how the tech-specs had a bad tendancy of changing from day to day. I recall that Starscream tech-spec had a bad tendancy of doing this.

    Shhhh, don't tell anyone.

What I mean is that Starscreams tech-spec changed as the years went by. If I remember right his tech-spec gave him different attributes than later down the road. Of course I also read this had something to do with a characters poularity.

its a popular opinion that screamers original specs were switched with skywarp, evident from the incorrect rankings.

And then other 'bots and cons with a smaller "size" would have penix envy.

WOW JUST WOW. I allways hate how the techspecs dont match the show as well. LIke energon rodimus, On the show he was a total badass and convoy type and on his card bio he is just a young punk

Ditto. I just don't like Tech Specs that show a "?" or go into the 10+ ranges. More than 100% of any ability would require magic. Although Transformers use an advanced technology ( and wondrous energy souces) that could be mistaken for magic, Transformers aren't users of magic. Star Wars Transformers may be the exception, i.e. the Force.
