Okay sorry of this thread annoys any of you combiner fans but anyone else think they are crappy. I love combiners but the toys never work. They usually have very limited articulation, fall apart and have weird ass proportions. Most of the power core combiners and FOC Bruticus look like they have Polio. The only good one I've seen is Hercules and that isn't even an official product

I hate custom combiners. They always look ugly and cheat too much with the limbs. I wish I had a dollar for every time I saw one with a Unicron crotch piece.

The problem with FoC Bruticus is that Onslaught needs to be a Voyager. If they're all the same size, the proportions will be crap. I.E., the limbs will be too big compared to the torso.

Maketoy Giant is probably my favorite combiner. Individual robots are great and posable and the combined mode has godtier proportions that make him look nice and bulky.

It does seem like Combiners often fall short in one area or another. Kind of hard to get vehicle mode, individual robot mode and the combined mode all looking just right.

With Power Core I feel like Hasbro might have been attempting too much at once. Maybe if you transformed the limbs instead of the auto-transform gimmick we wouldn't have ended up with either floppy limbs, limps that wouldn't stay locked in place, or just down right weird looking limbs.

If you want a decent combiner, get Hercules.

No real argument here. I've often wondered why Hasbro doesn't even try to do combiners with human-like proportions/hands/feet when that's how they portray them in fiction. Presumably it's a budgetary issue.

first: you say they LOOK like they have "polio" but FOC bruticus ain't even out yet so he can't be judged until you've at the least, seen a review. and the PCC guys were also for the kids as well as collectors. that's why hasbro didn't bother giving them limb articulation. and the only thing Bruticus and PCC figures have in common is how they fit together. other than that, they have nothing in common.

second: Herc wasn't made for kids. he was made for collectors by (i'm presuming) collectors. or at least people who know what collectors want.

but that's just my :2c: . and if i sound pissed, i apologize. just a huge combiner fan.
