    Zit iz quite zimple actually.

They wanted it to be G1 Prime but did the arms wrong.
think about it his transformation is similar to G1 Prime cept the arms (which is pretty much what i just said) probably because they didn't want to look "blocky" but in the end it seems they had no where else but to "dump" his arms on the back.

By the way "they" refers to our designer friends in japan :rock  . If it is american design well that explains alot. :mad

(no offence to the good american people but i have become bitter and synical about American TFs and the fact you get loads of stuff before us lot in the UK!) :D

Electronics, and also to balance out the proportions of the supermode more.

But yes, he is also a G1 homage in his engineering.

From what I understand, E.Prime was made with the super mode in mind to begin with.

That's why, when he's combined with his limbs he looks normal, but the regular mode suffers slightly.

And you do realise that TF'#s are design by both Japan and American designers, so if you blame one, you blame the other.

I thought it was because they designed him next to a twinkie factory.

from my understanding, generally the US side would establish the concept/themes, while the JAP side did the executing working designs; initial sketches can come from either sides?

the designs had to originate from a single sketch in the beginning.

I thought it was generally accepted at the time that he was designed with his combined mode first.
And by the way, what a fabulous way to make an uninformed jab at Hasbro simply because their UK counterpart sucks ass.

I still could give two craps less who designed, who's to blame, etc.

Energon Prime friggin' rocks and he'll hand you your ass on a silver platter if you bring the drama.

He beats the drama out of you.

They gave him a mouth, and he pigged out. So, they had to take the mouth away from him.

The only thing E Prime has on a silver platter, is more of those jelly donuts he seems to like so much. :p

He still looks pretty fat in super mode. I'd say it's those damn electronics they saddled him with.

Those jokes never get old. It's like Ultra Magnus, and "I can't deal with that, now."

I'm pretty tolerant... but I think this may be a little uncalled for. Then again, I am also pretty uninformed about European TF business... but I still think that was a little mean.

...I'm gonna stay on topic after that comment though, so as not to be a completely flaming post (though I don't mean to flame... I guess it is what it is).

I liked Energon... as a cartoon series. I liked the few toys I grabbed as the line was ending (I started buying TFs with my own money just as Energon was ending and when the first few alternators - Streak, Sideswipe, Hound - were warming shelves)... Certainly no G1 or Cybertron (I saw the cartoon after I had seen a few Cybertron episodes)... But I liked it.

Prime was MUCH better executed in the cartoon. The cartoon model (as it was, I assume, cell-shaded CGI) was based on the toy, and the toy was built around an electronic sound box that was its eventual downfall. Yep. E. Prime's a fatass. Why? He's got to hold that damn electronic soundbox. G1 Homage? Sure. I can see that. I don't actually have an E. Prime figure... nor do I really want one. Pictures do enough for me, and I have C. Prime. Good enough. While I don't actually own a G1 Prime (yes, I know :cry  ), I am still VERY familiar with him, and E. Prime definately seems to borrow his entire transformation idea from him... good for E. Prime!

Personally, I think he looks less stupid with a mouth than C. Prime does... but that might just be me...

What are you talking about? My post? The dude blindly attacks Hasbro (their designers in specific) because their UK counterpart isn't handling the line very well- I seriously think his initial post is meaner than my sarcastic reply.
