Why did The Fallen want to harvest Earth's Sun? Was it the only powerful sun in our Galaxy or possibly the only powerful sun in the Universe? Post your opinions about this.

it was a terrestrial planet close to a star so they COULD put a harvester on it

I'm pretty sure Fallen wanted to harvest our sun to kill every human on Earth.

It's possible it was the closest one that would yield a substantial amount of energon, or maybe he wanted to wipe out humanity out of spite or something.

Simple the movie had to be set on Earth because your star is human and they wanted the help of the Pentagon to bring down production cost.

Yea there are likely far better stars out there to harvest but no way were they going to do a live action Transformers film that was not set on Earth.

simple,he already built the Sun Harvester on Earth
no point not using it and finding a new Sun to harvest, plus having to rebuild a Sun Harvester before taking it

Larger, older stars have somewhat different chemical compositions, so a young/middle-aged star like ours may be better suited to whatever process the sun harvester uses to turn stars into energon.

But yeah, its a great big universe out there, and the scale of things is simply phenomenal.

If you go by the story of the Fallen being the same guy in every continuity who can change his backstory at will, but really works for Unicron, then he's simply out to kill humanity and status as an original Prime and access to the sun harvester is simply a means to an end to accomplish that. Maybe he thinks Earth and humans will give Autobots aid that he doesn't want them to have.

Without all that, it's possible he just really wants to get back at his brothers who objected to him taking out Earths sun. Or maybe he didn't really care much about humans back then, but when we were the deciding factor in his fall from grace, it became personal.

Either way its more about defying his brothers or killing humanity that it is about any decent energon gain.

megatronus put the harvester on earth because our sun is the second closest one to cybertron.

If its the closest, why did it take them so long to find the Allspark?

Per the expanded storyline of the comics, our sun was just the latest in a long line of suns the Primes had sacrificed to fuel the AllSpark. The Fallen chose our world to lure the Primes into a trap, knowing they would try to stop him from harvesting the sun of a life-bearing world.

What would he have done if the sanctity of human life was instead protected by an unlikely protector, namely a chromed-out waverider named Norrin Radd?
