why doesn't Hasbro make more seekers?

I actually can't remember a line that hasn't included at least one jet (BW related toys excluded of course), so it's not that they don't make "seekers".

I think Hasbro realizes that, at this point, the average consumer will not be willing to pay for 4 or 5 different repaints of the same toy. Usually, we'll get two paint schemes and that's it. An obvious exception is the repaint of TFTM Starscream into his G1 coloring and Thundercracker, but I feel the G1 Starscream colors toy was directed more towards collectors...

And even Beast Wars 2 had Starscream, BB, Dirge and Thrust!

While Hasbro may not always opt to release the three traditional seekers in a toyline, they're hardly forgotten, and at least two of them have been in most of the modern lines. We got the original trio in Armada, a Skywarp in Universe, a G1 homage to Starscream in Energon, all three were in Cybertron and two of them of the same mold, Classics got two and even a conehead, Botcon finished the set, Titanium had two of them, Sunstorm, and almost had Skywarp. Even Robot Heroes went for the easy repaints and actually completed the trio!

At this point, Hasbro could comfortably leave the seekers alone. Their time to shine hasn't really ever ended.

My pet theory is that the guys at Hasbro KNOW that there are people out there like me who are just waiting to finally get a complete set of -definitive- seeker molds.

So long as they always omit a couple of Seekers, we'll all only ever have an incomplete line-up, and so we'll shell out for the NEXT seeker mold to come along, in vain hopes that maybe THIS time we'll get a full set. :(

It's solid marketing... always keep us begging for one or two more... and then give us something else to try to complete instead.

I don't think they're the most popular. Optimus Prime certainly takes prority over them.

Unless they are remolded (Armada) or new molds entirely, I don't that Hasbro would for the same reasons posted by Nightwind.

I like how lbb asks these questions, and then just never checks back in to acknowledge the possible answers.

I like the questions that give away a little too much about the original poster. For example, see this little gem.

I'm hoping once we get the Sunstreaker/Sideswipe classics molds we'll see a few Stunticon repaints. Or at very least it wont be a big stretch to make some custom versions with the new molds.

Armada also had the Thrust mold's repaints, so it's the line with the most seekers, methinks... including Universe Sunstorm and Ramjet.
