I've been meaning to bring this up for awhile. Hasbro has been doing weekly or bi-weekly Q&A sessions with various G.I. Joe and Star Wars collecting websites for some time. Why aren't they doing this for Transformers as well? The demand and fan base is defintely there, especially after the movie. Has anyone from TFW contacted them about doing this?

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, here are a few examples:

They've tried it a couple times, once seriously and once as the silly Ask Vector Prime column. In both cases they did it for a couple months, then just stopped.

What were the subject's of the previous questions? Was there too much "fanboyism" involved in that such as people asking, "why isn't there a G1 episode?"

because g.i. joes and star wars must have a bigger collectors market. But I think hasbro is doing great with classics and allspark power this year.

These services only exist because collectors of those groups complain to much.
Besides the important questions get answered at botcon. I like to believe they get things sorted out with the collector base there.

They heard our cries when they were going to cancel the Classics Line. Now we are getting The Universe/Classics 2.0 line. I am extreamly happy about that. And what was stated above with Botcon gets all the major questions sorted out.

I blame Jack @ Tformers for ruining it for everyone in the Transformers fandom.

I think our fandom has been too destructive in the past to deserve any more chances from Transformers or Hasbro. I don't know of any other fandom that has had the politics and drama like the Transformers fandom.

Frankly Hasbro has made transformers quite possibly the most successful franchise in toy history without us meddling, and that may be for the best. I really don't think they need to ask us anything or owe us answers. We get right about what we deserve for the fandom's impact on the franchise.

This is the second time today I've seen people complaining about this "Jack" fellow. Anybody care to enlighten this total noob?

As for the topic at hand, they tried it with Ask Vector Prime, but for some reason it just seemed more child oriented than a real serious Q/A.

I'm asking this from the point-of-view of a guy who's really unfamiliar with other fandoms and how they react overall to things. What are other fandoms like? How do they respond to drastic changes? Do they get angry at all? Do they just shrug their shoulders and accept it?

Also, who is this Jack at Tformers?

Hasbro has been pretty fair about answering questoins from the various Joe and Star Wars websites. They let each website submit three questions and they answer them the best they can. There is no favoritism that I see. If they did it this way, there would be no reason for places like TFormers to throw a fit. And if they did.. screw em.

Of course googling the keywords will probably fill you in on the situation.

It should be noted that the end of Orson's world and such participation in the fandom appeared to be company-wide. Even in Australia Hasbro AU employees said at the same time that they could no longer post on fan boards anymore.

Our fandom has a reputation of being complainers who throw fits if they don't get their way. I don't believe this to be entirely true, and I feel to a degree that there is some serious legitimacy to some complaints. In the other thread, I made an argument as to Hasbro not liking the fans, and the reason for the original post of this thread just furthers my arguments. I really wish Hasbro would be more open to the fanbase as they are with their other big lines, hopefully then they would be better able to market things directly to the older collector market.

This is exactly part of the problem. The whole "mysteries" of this fandom are truly ridiculous. Preventing access to information about things that happened is ridiculous and does nothing but lead to further confusion and frustration.

It's to keep big cross-site flame wars from starting. I'm all for that.

but I do think Jack's ass-hattery should be more well known.
