There probably was some sort of outside force affecting her, and she wanted Sam to be as far away as possible in order to keep him safe.

The last thing filmmakers want to do is piss of ANY group of their audience. This includes things people connected to your film do, on or off the set. Without an audience, your film will suck, regardless of how good it actually is.

Same. Carly actually had decent character... Hell, she partly participated in saving Optimus's life.

 

Mikaela never broke up with Sam. She just stopped tanning, died her hair blonde, and changed her name to Carly.

 

Replicated her lips to look like donkey/duck, got an annoying accent, breast reduction, and got acting lessons that would lessen her acting skills. I think that's fairly accurate.

 

Who cares? We didn't see Mikaela's rabbit teeth in DoTM, so we shouldn't care.

 

Not unusual for a high school relationship to not work out as a long term relationship. You are young, those hormones are raging, and well you don't really know as much as you think you know.

Could be that both of them were a bit of adrenaline junkies. It did seem like their passions where the highest when it seemed like they could die at any moment. That crazy rush of excitement that can make some people feel so alive. But then what do you do when things get all calm and normal?

Toss in how long distance relationships can go bad and there are plenty of logical reasons why they would have split up to go separate ways.

Honestly the only real relationship question is why did Wheelie go with Sam when he so badly wanted to be Mikaela's robo-gimp? Did the robot BDSM relationship just not work?
