I understand if your a collector and love collecting stuff from the TF franchise the toys are great to have on display but apart from that why do you buy these toys? I mean what do you gain out of it? does it make you feel like a kid again walking into toy store and walking down the transformers ile lol.

I buy them cause I'm addicted and I don't know any better. I don't even like Transformers to tell you the truth.

If it looks cool, I'll buy it. Or if it's Soundwave. Always bought on sight.

I am a fan of the sheer engineering that goes into these toys. the amount of work that goes into a transformer for the price you pay (average about $12 a deluxe now in america) is amazing. Its why I love bot shots right now, the neat engineering in them makes me love them

If I like the show, i go get the toys, and vice versa, if i like the toys, i watch the show

I think it is two things for me, OCD being the first. I don't play with them, don't really have room right now to display them, but for some reason, I must get them. I was gonna skip Prime, but got sucked in. Now I am trying to decide if I need all the Takara/Hasbro Asia repaints/retools.

The other thing is the little rush of adrenaline if gives me when I find something. Strange, but I compare it to the rush I get playing sports, etc, just not as big a rush. And since my softball team decided to take a break this season, I may need the rush anywhere I can get it.

I'm a sucker for the engineering first & foremost... plus I like robots... and cool vehicles... and robots that turn into cool vehicles :) ... and all the clicks & snaps that happen while you're transforming them.

I collect because it takes my mind off other things and I always get that feeling whenever I see my figures, like I'm five years old again, walking up to the counter with my very own Optimus Prime in one hand and $20 in the other. Nothing beats that feeling, that feeling that I'm a kid again, that excitement of purchasing my first figure with my hard earned money. Those were the days.

If I look at my toy display I attain a sense of Happiness.

The fact, a piece of plastic can give me Happiness is quite a
    little miracle.

Nostalgia. Anything beyond that is triviality. I like looking at them and handling them now and again.

Nostalgia for G1 and all the great toys I always wanted but never had when I was little, and the knowledge that I own something that always looked SO cool in pictures.

Display them? I don't think so. Most of my Transformers go straight from the shipping box into storage. The thought of owning them is usually enough for me (dumb, I know).

Yeah I love walking around the toy isles. Even if I can't buy them, and I don't want to buy everything anyway, but looking at the new toys on the pegs and shelves makes me happy. I buy mainly Transformers because you can't see half of the toy so to speak without buying them and handle them. I buy some Star Wars figures, but I don't do anything with them besides lining them up on shelves.
