I really would like to know, I myself can't justify buying a knock off anything, so that's my reason for NOT buying.

Most people would probably use KOs for repaint projects or junker parts.

I've bought some of the cheap ko's for extra parts for kitbashes, and so I have something to fiddle around with, but don't have to worry about replacing it if it breaks. As for the expensive one's that try to look exactly like the origional, I don't buy them, and probably never will. They're just too expensive for a ko, and are harder to get than the cheap one's, which I can just go to any small dollar like store and find. The only one I would consider buying if I could get ahold of it easily and for a decent price, would be Grimlock, as he's one of them that's least likely to ever get a reissue.

Placeholders I'd say. I've been having that cheap G1 devvy for about a year before obtaining the vintage one.

Good: gives a pretty good impression of the original (ie. transformation, parts)
    Bad:does not hold together well
Ugly: takes a lil' away from the EPIC excitement when you finally get the original :lol

I have a KO Frenzy because it was cheap and I really don't want to pay so much for an original, the KO looks pretty good (aside from the stickers). It's pretty hard to shell out for a potentially loose/flimsy figure since they're over 20 years old now, and I just don't have the money anyways...

If its them vintage KOs, for mold variants, ideas/colors that the officials can't/didn't do, for rarity. For fan fiction wise, as different characters different those of the G1 storyline.

If its dollar type KOs, not really, the quality is still too shoddy for handling or parts.

To devalue other peoples collections.... lol

Cuz I can fill in gaps of my collection with an almost exact visual replica for cheaper than a real one

Most KO are cheap. Sometimes they come in fun sizes. The quality of KO can vary widely. Some KO have comparable quality to the original but at a much lower price.

    Ebay:
because I'm badgered by the impression of the original.

precisely why KO is so lucrative,
because they don't go for repeat sale
    to the same customer.
    new suckers everytime
