Why do stores insist on listing transformers that are out of stock?

Do this do anyone elses head in, you visit an online store and get excited to see loads of categories only to search them and find the items have been sold out for an age???

lol, good question. An even better question is, "Why do stores list transformers as in-stock when they are actually out-of-stock?".

Like the masterpiece starscream. Walmart.com listed it as in stock the other day so I ordered it and then they emailed me a week later saying they didn't have any.

There's a few shops out there where half the sections you see listed are for series they haven't stocked in years... it's annoying to think you found a goldmine and realize all the nuggets are gone

I blame it on laziness of the store's Internet tech support.

Cause they might get it back in stock , and would still need a page to list them.

It's easy to put up and take down links and pages to reuse later, any webmaster worth paying wouldn't spend more than a few minutes on it. It would save the site bandwidth and save buyers a lot of heartbreak and confusion.

Yeah, but then the site will look like it's empty, crappy and doesn't have any actual TOYS for sale.
