With the exception of 3 I find this line to be utter drivel, I like the Falcon, Clone Commander Cody and The Deathstar and thats it.

I am so suprised a line like this keeps ticking when stuff like Alternators dies off?!?!?!? it truly does vex thee :)

I would guess most of the budget went for licensing.
Whatever was left goes to engineering.

Star Wars stuff doesn't come cheap.

Lucas be sitting on a goldmine :lol .

I would imagine part of the licensing deal dictated that the vehicle modes had to look just so, which meant that the robot modes got the short end of the stick. My proof of this is how the majority of the releases are very faithful recreations of the movie vehicles, with minimal robot parts showing. I get the feeling had there been more leeway, we'd see some liberties on the vehicles to improve the robots.

Ultimately there's the fact it's got to be approved by the licensor, so they get the final say.

The deathstar is really the only SW former I'm willing to buy.

They suck because they transform from Star Wars vehicles into Star Wars characters. They should've transformed from Star Wars vehicles into Decepticons & Autobots.

Another reason they suck is because the whole line is nothing but repaints. Repaint after repaint.

Another reason is they only release 3 per wave & each wave comes out like 6 months apart.

Another reason is the price. $14.99 for a deluxe packed in a big ass package sucks!

I totally LOVE the TIE Bomber & Death Star!!!

My guess is that Hasbro can't compromise the vehicle modes. So they end up with odd looking robots.

For what is probably going to be the only time ever, I agree with you.

Though I got to admit, the Millenium Falcon was badass in every way. Hearing actual quotes from the movie was awesome.

Well, the only one's I like are the Falcon (though it's kind of weird for Han & Chewy to combine like that), the Death Star, Emperor's Shuttle (it's actually pretty nice), Commander Cody Tank & possibly the Tie Bomber (it looks pretty good).

I think a lot of the problem is like others have said... the vehicles have to be faithful recreations and they can't take liberties to make the bot modes better. Hence the bot modes get the short end of the stick.

Add to that the fact that Lucas is on record saying that he thinks adding Transformers to Star Wars is a ridiculous concept...

I can agree with you there. Never quite sat right with me. Now I'm worried that if they EVER do a G.I. Joe Transformers line, We'd have a H.I.S.S. Tank that transformed into Major Bludd instead of Megatron (or Ironhide/Ratchet/Prime:drool: ).

The Marvel ones feel a little odd as well. But, the whole allure is the absurdity of the concept. If it does it for ya, great!

The Early releases are not very good at all, flimsy'n'such. But I've kinda come around for the line, though I only have the SaeSae Tinn and Commander Cody ones. I do agree it would be so much better if they Transformed into Transformers characters, and I'm a Star Wars fan.
The upcoming General Grevious Starfighter looks like a must buy for me aswell.

And they are a bit bigger than most of the Transformers Deluxes I have. They seem to fall half way between a deluxe and Voyager, a Deloyager maybe, lol.....

I don't think SWTFs are designed by the TF team. I think they are all made by the SW team.

The main problem is that there simply are not enough variants of the Jedi Starfighter figures; if they want to bail this line out, thats what they're going to need to focus on.

    *cough*

i am confused- they have an x-wing that transforms into luke, then it came with a tiny luke figure.
what the hell? why would the x-wing or any vehicle turn into a character that is already in the same universe?
i mean, yell out at obi-wan and you get a jedi and a fighter that both reply. huh?

i agree- do it like the gi joe crossover- a hiss tank becomes Megs or something.
    not Destro.

until i saw the bugs in the Shuttle, i had wanted to get these, but now...nope.

why haven't they done the Star Destroyer or rebel troop transport or heck, even leia's ship from Ep. IV? and look at all you can do with a B-wing...

IMHO, lucas wants a good rep, so he is anal retentive about things- unfortunately, not the right things.

If I remember correctly, it's the Galoob team working on these. Same guys who did Micro Machines and Action Fleet back in the day. They don't really have Transformers experience.
