I don't hate him, but, at the same time I don't like him enough to buy him.

 

I've wondered the same thing. It's a totally different story when you have him in hand then just looking at pictures.

 

I'm not a fan. Then again I don't like Cybertron Prime either.
Its just an "I don't like him" feelin'.

Energon Prime looks like "Prego-Prime." One or two more months and the Matrix might pop out. Keep the mop ready for the leakin-lubricant that comes beforehand. Its bad enough his trailer acts as a daycare center for simple-minded drone units.

Energon/Superlink O.P is the only figure from that line I'm keeping. I like his comining mode.

 

Some people don't like the proportions of the toy. They think he looks "fat." Personally I think he's awesome.

 

He's a tad fat in the torso and his mini-optimi are WAY to Power Rangerish, but I love his combined mode with Wing Saber.

 

He's woefully disproportionate in robot mode unless he's combined with his MMPResque drone units or Wing Saber. He's also woefully disproportionate if combined with Omega Supreme. And the gimmick didn't do any favors for Wing Saber (terrible articulation) or Omega Supreme, either. In other words, his gimmick was poorly executed.

I don't particularly care to call him "Fatimus Prime" or "Preggo Prime" because I find such terms insulting and unnecessary. I mean, if done correctly you could have a TF that resembled a sumo wrestler, for example. (And it's not wise to mock sumo wrestlers.) But Energon Optimus Prime is a box with short arms and tiny legs. He doesn't look like a believable warrior.

The best Optimus Prime of recent years has been TFTM07 leader Optimus Prime, and Cybertron Optimus Prime is a close second.

 

He looks like a fat ass by himself but I keep him combined with wingsaber and he looks pretty good.

 

Whether it's a good toy is a matter of opinion, but are you seriously saying that you don't see how the bulging thighs, flared hips, lower back kibble and sagging pectoral windows resembles the body structure of an obese person?

Exactly. Energon prime may need to go on a major diet, but IMO it's leaps and bounds better than Armada Prime, and the interchange-able limbs, while Power Ranger-like with the multi colors, is a very fun gimmick. And to echo others, the combined form with Wing Saber is VERY cool. Makes Wing Saber actually worth buying for that fact alone.

 

Sorry, legs look a whole lot better when they get larger on the lower side. Having the thighs larger makes him look like he has chicken legs. And, his arms are too small. His alt mode is also pretty odd, with some strange placement for his arms. His combined mode does look nice though.

 

I do not like his head. It is too small in normal mode, visible in alt mode and I hate the stupid hat thing in super robot mode. I sold his ass months ago.

 

So nobody's mentioned that he "transforms" by bending over backwards into a box with wheels that only vaguely resembles a truck because of the chest windows? He's got the same ridiculous visible head problem that half of Energon had, compounded by arms hanging off the back of this so-called "truck," an ugly trailer that doesn't do anything, obese proportions in robot mode, and an asymmetrical combined mode ripped right from any generic iteration of Power Rangers.
