Why do fans abbreviate The War Within as WWI?

    So someone please explain this to me. Whenver I see WWI I'll always think of World War One. Why not just WW? Does it have something to do with the volumes?

    War With In is what they think about/why people do it

    doesnt make sense and always reminds me of world war I

    they should just use "TWW" or "WW" like every other normal person :3

    people are just strange

    its like them calling Titaniums "tits"

    Some people get really bent out of shape about it.

    Personally, I think most acronym abbreviations are stupid, and I don't use them. Like it's gonna kill me to type out six more letters.

    Hehe, I've often thought about starting a thread with that exact question. The WWI abbreviation never made sense to me either.

    But yeah, it's ******ed.

    The thing is, there IS a World War I/World War II inspired Transformers Gi-Joe crossover, so it just makes it that much more confusing to me. I always think people are talking about motorcycle Bumblebee or something :)

    I try not to use shorthand. War Within is fine for me.

    Strange, I've never even noticed it as being "WWI". I thought we all simply used "WW". Maybe I always just see it that way...and Titaniums are always Tits. with me because I do find it a pain to type out the 5 extra letters. To each their own!

    WWI=World War One

    WW=War Within

    That is the only thing that makes since.

    To me of course.

    like others i always spelled out "War Within", its not that hard to spell the words and for every time you talk to some one and you state that WW was a great series, they might think something else
    World War
    World Wonders
    Wonder Woman
    Weeble Wobbles (and they dont fall down)
    Wheres Waldo
    And many many more

    I've gotten used to it here being the context of The War Within, but I still (and will probably) always see WWI as World War One.

    I use "TWW". War With In is just stupid.

    Same reason it irks me when people refer to the official club run by Brian Savage as "TFClub", because that's already the name of a certain well-known Chinese fan site.

    (I've also encountered people who seriously abbreviate "Transformers" as "Tformers" rather than "TFs", and those people don't even seem to be particularly involved with Jack Hurwitz's site)
