You should watch the movie again with the commentary by Michael Bay on. A japanese guy WAS in charge of the design for Optimus. A french guy was in charge of the design for Frenzy. And the list goes on of non americans if that makes you happy? Bottom line the designs are bad freakin ass and they're not going to change. If you don't like them just don't watch the movie.

they act like they know whats good for us but they forget what makes transformers cool and what makes us like them in the first place.

these face designs are theyr way of saying we'll do whatever we want,f**k the fans.

I didn't like many of them, just Unit 01. She looked more like a human in a suit of armour....with the worst kind of temper, she was bad-arse.

No, not really. He is MORE likely to effect change by speaking out than being silent. If ALL fans didn't say anything, then there would be zero percent for change. I am not saying that the chances of change are great - they are close to zero, but at least they aren't zero as it would be with a quiescent fan base.

I would like to know exactly how you can read minds and know who has moved on and who hasn't? How do you know who are just tolerating the designs but deep down inside are wanting something different?

We are talking about believability. I understand the concept of aliens most likely being different. Read my post again. I said just as much - orbs, aliens with snouts, jabba-like aliens, etc. You are just repeating what I said back to me.

I also understand that this is a different continuity. But MY POINT was that people BELIEVED the Transformers as possible when they first came out. It worked for them then. So why wouldn't the "humans in metal suits" paradigm not work now? People believed it back then, and they will believe it again.

And again, my point was exactly what I was saying - the producers of the movie used "reality" as the reason for changing the look of TFs. Saying that "aliens" wouldn't look like us. If they truly believed what they were saying, then they would make the TFs look truly alien. Why bipedal? Why a torso? Why a head?

Basically, they choose to use it when it suited them and choose to not when they didn't want to. Its as simple as that. Their reasons don't hold water.

I just feel inclined to point out that Ironhide from TF'07 had more in common with the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast than... Ironhide.

The 'haters'. Nice labeling, and lumping "them others" into one collective groupe.

While I enjoyed the film, I don't agree with said labeling. And besides, them "haters"- those kinds of people- showed more independant thought (on an average at least) than the other camp. What could I call that one? The likers?

I didnt really like the movie designs I think they went too far, no I didnt want G1 boxes but I think they could have taken something like the audi ad bot and ramped it up they just went too far and made them look busy IMO. However Im hoping that this time round they look better I dont expect the asthetic to change now (that would be silly) I do hope that there is less shacky cam shots and that we actually get good looks at the robots this time which I really feel made me like the designs even less because some of the designs dont look half bad in concept art but in execution they just looked messy but perhaps that was because of the blurred shots to cut costs......
