What's the point in being 2nd in command if you can't become leader after the previous dies?
Wasn't a new toy.
He probably would have if he was around when Prime died.
I can't believe I forgot bout that.
Cause he could deal with it.
It wouldn't have worked out that well anyway.
His voice actor, Scatman Crothers, died that year, so he wouldn't have been able to voice him in season three.
He technically died three months after the movie.
Prowl was second in command, Jazz was 3rd.
That's quite debatable. In some episodes/media, he's 2nd, in others it's Prowl.
It was still 86 wasn't it?
Yes, but Season three was done whilst the movie was being done, I presume.
"Jazzimus Prime" just doesn't sound cool...
Plus, Jazz *always* needs to be a super-cool sports car. I can't see him picking up a trailer.
I see Jazz as Optimus's Right hand bot, and Prowl as his left.
To go with the sides of the brain.
His death was the reason Jazz had a non-speaking roll in Five Faces of Darkness 1(or was that Munka Spanka?), and then dropped out of existanc
After Jazz's voice actor passed away, apparently it was very difficult to replace Scatman Crothers with someone else. So, he was present for awhile then dropped out of existence. In terms of the long-debate of who was 2IC and 3IC, it has been ongoing and I think that it was shared in the cartoon whereas, in the comics, Prowl was 2IC and Jazz was 3IC.
1. He was white on the outside, but black on the inside...and it was the 80's
2. Optimus knew he would only use the Matrix to make his speakers louder
3. Morgan Freeman was unavailable to do the voice of post matrix Jazzimus Prime
Jazz might have been 2nd in command but he was 2nd in command of just the autobot group that had crashed on earth prior to the movie; he was never 2nd in command of the whole autobot population. Magnus was first in command of the autbot base on earth during the movie, thus his position would have superceded Jazz's position.
With a name like "Hot Rod", it's pretty easy to guess how he worked his way to the top.
The whole point of the movie was to sell the new line of toys (Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Springer, Galvatron, Scourge, Kup etc etc). Continuity was out the door the first time we see Hot Rod. From then on the movie takes the stance that all the new Autobots have ALWAYS been there. Thus, Ultra Magnus was ALWAYS 2nd in Command (being Autobot City Commander and all.)
Jazz had the Shining. He knew what would happen to Ultra Magnus and turned down the promotion.
Separate names with a comma.
