Why didn't Cybertron's gravity rip the Earth apart?

Pretty much. The way some people's suspension of disbelief is wired sometimes (not pointing any fingers at anyone at this thread in particular, just observations I've made at some point or another), you get the impression that they'd cry "that's totally fake!" at a National Geographic nature documentary.

I for one discuss the point because I am scared that some people actually believe what is going on in these movies is real.

I cant believe how some people are saying Cybertron doesnt have its own gravity

    How couldnt it?

EVERYTHING in universe has its own gravity, even ourselves, monkeys, bird poo, everything.

And obviously Cybertron' was much stronger than Earth's due to its mass. Cybertron seems to be in DOTM, at least twice the size of Earth, if not bigger.

Add to that, the magnetic fields coming from an apparently almost totally metallic planet.

I'm going with the 'never fully materialised' explanation, but there's lots of good ones. However the best is 'It's a freaking Sci-fi movie.'

If we're able to accept that alien machines who fly around the universe shaped like comets and have natural bare minimum skeletal protoform bodies but can apparently look at practically anything and within milliseconds gain new mass and fill themselves out with detailed paint schemes, glass, rubber wheels, working engines complete with exhaust, fabric interiors and even rearview mirror decals, never run out of ammo because they supposedly "grow" it faster than a bullet travels, blink their no-moisture-required eyes, keep conveniently crashing on Earth since before time began even though they're from millions of light years away and never seem surprised to find a shit ton of fellow Cybertronians already hanging out here, can resurrect themselves and humans either via a mystical shard (that was also already conveniently here... undoubtedly beside a stockpile of Super-Man's kryptonite) or via Transformer Heaven that strangely looks like human's cloud laden version, can disguise themselves in human skin right down to looking like a petite tween model, have been the direct cause of our space race and technological age, can warp from one country to another in mere seconds, and have a technology that can transport entire planets... I don't think we should be too bent out of shape that 1/5 of a dead planet popping up in space didn't immediately destroy the Earth with a gravitational flux.

    But that's just me. :)

About eighty percent of that rant has already been explained via science or pseudo-science within the Bayverse. :)

So, your "argument" falls in line with baggzey's comment:
That's more of a plan b excuse (no way to explain the logic without it backfiring)

Uhh, and about 100% of these so-called explanations never happened in the actual movies themselves, so according to the 95% of people (aka "general movie going audience") who don't read the non-canon comics, the non-canon books, or the non-canon forums where fans invent explanations to things that the non-canon writers couldn't or didn't cover, 1/5 of Cybertron not ripping apart the Earth is no more "unrealistic" than anything else that happened in any of the three movies. :)

Sentinel Prime, thirty seconds after talking for the first time "The Space Bridge defies your laws of physics."

    Problem. solved.

Seriously, that's probably the hundrenth time someone forgot that line for God's sake!

Same continuity family not film continuity canon.

Here is the thing Bay and the movie writers don't care for these extra material. They just toss unfinished draft scripts for novel and comic writers. Which is why they are so different from the movies.

I wonder what movies would be like if they followed proper laws of physics and logic. Villains sniped while monologueing leaving us with no damn clue what their plan was, whole planets instantly destroyed because of how gravity or antimatter works, our heroes dieing from typical stunts like jumping through glass windows...

I'm serious that a LOT of the problems that people have with the plots of these movies is that they couldn't effing pay attention when the characters were talking! Like they just tune out when there's dialogue, then complain that there was too much fighting and there wasn't enough dialogue!
