why didn’t michael bay give the fans what they wanted?

    Just because it has dinosaurs people would think it's ripping off Jurassic Park? Did some people forget that there are A BAGILLION other movies that feature dinosaurs from B-movies like 100,000,000 B.C. to documentaries on the Discovery Channel?

    And I don't even think people would complain about copying some scenes from Jurassic Park seeing that Steven Spielberg himself plays a role in the development of the movies.

    It's only a lack of imagination when something is automatically labeled a dumb idea. Ten years ago, I'm sure a lot of the average movie going public would thought the idea of transforming alien cars was a dumb idea.

    The Dinobots could work, hell Unicron could given that idea that is just right. Having said that, in the bayverse, there really wouldn't be much thought put into why the Dinobots were there. They'd be background characters meant to look cool. Then yeah, it'd be a dumb idea.

    Otherwise, I still don't see the big deal of them not being included. Primus wasn't. Ultra Magnus wasn't. Give the franchise time, and they'll all make it eventually.

    He did. We wanted Optimus to be more bad ass after part one and we wanted more robot scenes and fight scenes and less shaky camera. We got all that in ROTF. After ROTF we complained about the twins, the weak story and some shaky camera. We didn't get them for DOTM and we also got a much better story. I think he did listen quite a bit.

    There are many fans who would balk at this. Jus' sayin'.

    Regarding that bolded part, ego or not, the director is ultimately responsible for everything that ends up on film as well as the elements that lead up to the scene being shot. Even if the material handed to him arguably lacks strength. It's easy for people who don't fully understand the directorial process to take potshots from the peanut gallery.

    I'm fine with that. I like the Dinobots, but I hated the 86 movie and pretty much every thing in it.
