Cool, it was the younger of the 2, that got me into yo-yoing for a while there, when they brought back their show in the late 80's. yo-yo man for the win LOL

    Lol every band has haters...

I absolutely love the Beatles. And I know it's from personal experience and such and regardless of the music I am always going to love them simply because of memories associated with their music.

I think they broke up because tensions were just running high, Apple Ltd. really wasn't panning out to be the multimedia giant they planned due to poor management, Yoko pretty much became John's chief focus, Paul was too smart business wise and wasn't caught up in religion enough to NOT start a solo career, George always hated fame and the inflated egos of Lennon and McCartney were stifiling him creatively, and Ringo......

Well, he has a song about an octopus.

Even though they broke up after only 8 years recording, they still produced an amount of material that is daunting... especially by today's standards where a Band will release one album every 2 years then have a greatest hits filler album after 3 albums.

I love Nirvana as much as anyone else... but I just think they're overrated. I'll agree with you on the Foo Fighters, too.

I still laugh when someone says the Beatles were overrated.

They were bigger than ***** (ammended for board rules).

Plus there's four of them vs. one of him, so they could probably take him in a fight ;)

Yoko broke up the band, everybody knows that. John was trying to be artistic. Paul wanted to do his own stuff. George had an entire album ready, and John and Paul didn't give him any respect. Ringo was lucky to be in the band.

This is why the Beatles split up.

    Anybody want to argue?

John, Paul and George had all been working on solo stuff when Let It Be came out. Abbey Road was about the break up of the band. They all knew it. It is also one of the best albums ever.

I watched the Top Gear with Ronnie Wood again recently. Clarkson asked him if the band knew much about the world as they were permanently on tour. I think they think it's still the '70s.

Beatles and Queen are indeed awesome.

Nirvana were a good band, I love them, but it's amazing what a shotgun can do, eh?

I'm constantly amused by emo kids moping about in Kurt tops, whining about how it was such a tragedy.

I like that one, especially when Kermit sings it!

They broke up because they became a bunch of dirty hippies. And because of Yoko.

Emo kids listen to Nirvana? or is that just the cache all use of the word to describe "strange" kids again?

Though I certainly don't whine about it, hell, I still crack the joke that the best thing to ever happen to Dave Grohl was Cobain's suicide. It was a tragedy in the sense that Nirvana were really starting to come into their own musicly, and then Kurt killed himself. In Utero bordered on brilliant, and Unplugged in New York is one of the best live concert album in the last 25 years. For my generation (maybe yours?), the death of Cobain was the equivelent of the 60s generation losing Hendrix or Morrison (though they were certainly light years ahead of Cobain in terms of talent when they died).

The Beatles split up because 4 guys can only think they are the most important member of the band for so long. Then they leave.

The Beatles broke up because Chuck Norris declared it should be so 30 years after the fact, and time re-arranged itself to fill this decree.

This ^ couldn't agree more but to add John wanted to get more political with his music he probably would have been the Governor of New York if he didn't get deported and have the whole lost weekend. :D
