Why did no-one complain about Arcee's colour in TF: Prime?

People complained about Ironhide being black in the movies or Sideswipe being silver but I didn't read about anyone hating Arcee being blue with little pink.

Are you complaining or just stirring up the complaints?

Read the thread in News and Rumors again. At least one person complained.

Arcee's not a famous character, so they can get away with changing her color scheme.

It's me just wondering. I didn't notice any complaints that's all.

I don't have a problem with Arcee being blue, so there's no complaint from me.

Besides, this isn't the first time she was blue. They repainted the Energon Arcee figure into blue and released it as part of the Target exclusive S7 scout figures for the 2007 Movie toy line.

It's not like she's G1 Arcee, so who cares? Look at how many Ironhides we've had between all the continuities. I think only G1 and Animated look similar.

The only possible case for gripe is that WFC Arcee is pink, and TFP is supposed to be in the same continuity. Though it's not like a TF has never changed colors before. Look at Cybertron Hot Shot.

On the same note, TFP Starscream's colors are also different in the show. His WFC color scheme was traditional Starscream and his TFP animation model has a darker version of TFA Starscream's colors.

Arcee, once upon a time, was largely defined as being a "girl Transformer." Ergo pink.

Now that the boys' entertainment industry is starting to catch up this decade to the last hundred years of feminism, other colors are allowed. Maybe even personalities besides "chip on shoulder; flirty." The name repeat is being used because Hasbro would rather reuse an old name (and there are shockingly few female Transformer names, so they're grabbing the popular one) than name a new character.

Don't hold your breath for her being portrayed as unusually powerful or capable though.

I'm indifferent not only to Arcee's color, but Prime in general after seeing those images. I can't believe that thing is passing as Starscream.

I complained... in my head. :thumbdown

But I didn't bother voicing those thoughts, because they screwed all the other characters up so much, why complain about Arcee being blue?

What exactly is the point of complaining about a color scheme? Especially on a minor character like Arcee? If you've been a fan longer than a week you should know that only a handful of characters keep a consistent color scheme from series to series.

Every series, people act like it's some travesty that a character doesn't have the exact same color scheme from 25 years ago. You'd figure you guys would have gotten the idea by now.

Truthfully if it means people look at her as a character to be developed as opposed to a caricature to be enacted then she can be blue, red or god damned rainbow. I won't care.

I was just about to post something along these lines.

To me, complaining about color or about how a character doesn't have a specific vehicle mode is stupid. Transformers is constantly changing. Each new movie franchise or series is a new universe, which means things can change. Prime could be a Peterbuilt with flames in one universe and a Ford Pick-Up in another. Ironhide could be a red van in one and a black Topkick in another. Things change to keep it fresh. How many more times does this record have to play for people to grasp this?
