Hello, I want to know from my fellow members what they think made me buy it? Obsession, addiction, or just plain dorky....

The other day I went to a thift shop just to waste time. As I was passing a section of lunch boxes I saw a vintage transformers thermos. I got so excited about it that I bought it. I only collect tf toys so this was just very unordinary for me... so whatcha think....

    Thanks

If it wasn't a thrift store you probably wouldn't have bought it. It's also likely it's a very rare item now!

Maybe for the same reason I bought a G.I. Joe thermos years ago even though I only collect as few characters: you're a fan, and it brought back memories of your childhood?

MTE. I was in our local Post Office the other day and saw a tin of out-of-date marshmallows with Optimus Prime on the cover for £1, and I snapped that up faster than you can say "I will never use this for any practical purpose, ever". And Optimus Prime isn't even in my Top Ten favourites. :3

I know it's not quite the same thing, but over the years I've bought so many TF jigsaws and stationery items on eBay... Now they just rot in my drawers, a testament to how nostalgia made me buy things I have no use for.

Same reason I bought crappily made Transformers: Animated Cups from a discount bin at a Winn-Dixie earlier this year.

    You're a bloody FAN. :p

I bought a plastic disposable Transformers tablecloth on ebay a while back. It was purely on a whim.
    It happens.

As someone addicted to car boot sales I'll grab most anything TF I find, especially G1 stuff.
There's few things as sweet as snagging a G1 jigsaw (got me some great G1 3D ones), board games, books (found a nice G1 TF pop-up book this year amogst others), stationary (G1 ink stampers) and other items I can't remember off the top of my head. Not counting the actual figures.

But I've been someone that's always collected across all the TF media, not just the figures, so buying this stuff isn't so strange for me.
