Hmmm.... I think I like the extra height. I think I'm gonna have to go out and grab me an extra Tracks to do a part swap.

Did you do the part swap? If you did, do you have pics?

Just thought I'd show some reasons why some people want to see a Wheeljack that is around the same height as new toys like Jazz (and yes, you're all entitled to your own opinions on what you'd like). I'm not saying the new Wheeljack toy is bad at all (it's actually GREAT), but I think it needs that extra height to look better/more proportional. I suggested this in the feedback thread for this toy and instantly got the same remarks......"he's always been short and squatty".......sorry, but I beg to differ. His G1 toy may have been short and squatty, but other forms of media show him being more in line with guys like Jazz, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, etc. (ie. TALLER). The height of the new WJ toy makes him look like the typical Pat Lee marshmallow that most everyone hated. Again, just my opinion on it all.

Enjoy & tell me he looks squatty in these images :)

Or maybe they designed WJ first, then made Tracks taller.

WJ looks pretty much perfect to me.... and considering the constraints they're under, i think they did fairly well on Tracks too.

I prefer them short, no hole showing and the legs will be more stable.

I personally love the fact that he's shorter, in that it differentiates him from Tracks even further. Especially since I modded my Tracks so that his shoulders sit a bit narrower. So now my Tracks is taller and narrower, while my Wheeljack will be shorter and wider.

Honestly, looking at the OP's pic, I don't think you would need to part swap. Just get a dremel or a regular drill and carve out the groove as long as you want on Wheeljack and it could save you some money!

Well, except that the sliders have locking nubs. So while you can carve it out, unless you're super accurate about it, he'll have some pretty slippery leg extensions.

I still think it's an incredibly stupid, ugly, terrible idea.

Talking to someone else about it on another board it looks like the slider for tracks is slightly larger than wj so the only way to pull it off properly is with the dremel.

Just tried swapping them and it does not work. As said above the width of the slides are slightly different, and the extensive remolding of Wheeljacks back legs won't hold it in place, so it just flops around. Plus you can then see a pretty good amount of the gap above his knees.

Well, it's good that I'm completely opposed to doing that in the first place, then.

I like Wheeljack being shorter, it makes him look even more different from Tracks instead of just another repaint.

i modded mine, i cut the sliders longer, however that made the legs super floppy when fully extended, so i cut the slider again where it connects to the thigh to match tracks, so instead of the angle its a straight up L shape. cutting that angle piece enabled me to fill inside the leg piece with quiksteel putty and its prett damn stable. im not really good at explaining stuff but heres the end result

Oh noes! I see da railz, it's so bad! ;)

Great mod and it does help make him a bit taller, while still being wide or bulky.

I think the real reason for it is the fact the hood is his shins. If his leg extended up further, the knee would be way above the top of the hood making his legs look weird. This way, the knee is right where it should be.

As nice as Generations Wheeljack is, I can't help but think Prime Wheeljack looked a lot nicer. If we get a toy of him, he may actually replace my Generations Wheeljack.
