Hello ,i have a burning question ,why Buzzsaw and Frenzy seldom used by Soundwave in G1 cartoon compare to Laserbeak and Rumble ?

What the points Soundwave have this 2 guy around as he seldom used and both of them look like Laserbeak and Rumble?
Are Laserbeak are better spy than Buzzsaw ?i throught they are twin brothers,am i right ?
Are Rumble more loyal to Soundwave than Frenzy ?
What about Overkill and Slugfest asthey are both Dinosaurs and they can give Dinobot Grimlock and Snarl a hard time as well since they have same dinosaurs model mode ?
Do you think Soundwave shall use Buzzsaw ,FrenzyOverkill and Slugfest more ?
    Thanks.

Buzzsaw was sold with the Soundwave toy. No need to hype him.

Rumble is much more interesting then Frenzy. Frenzy yells or makes sonic waves. Rumble pounds the ground making earthquakes. Much cooler & easier for kids to understand whats happening. The toy colored like Frenzy (but named Rumble) was sold with Ravage so most kids would want Ravage or the guy named Rumble.
Cartoon was over by the time Overkill and Slugfest were out. Cartoon had built up the original 6 (counting Ratbat) cassettes & most people like those more. Also, wouldn't they be just as small as the other cassette bots no matter what their alt mode is. Grimlock would laugh and chomp someone the size of Ravage.

This statement absolutely cracks me up, because there's was absolutely no distinction between Frenzy and Rumble in the cartoon besides name and colour. They had the same voice, used the same attacks, had the same personality, everything.

Overkill and Slugfest appeared in The Call Of The Primitives.

Rumble was used plenty, he just never did his own laundry and wore Frenzy's clothes all the time.

Buzzsaw is criminally underused. He was always one of my favourite Cons. Way better than Laserbeak.

Because Buzzsaw came with Soundwave's toy, Frenzy was a redeco of another toy, and Slugfest and Overkill came late in the 1986 toyline, too late to really be used much

Was he even ever named? Or coloured correctly? I'm amazed he got 4 episodes. Pretty much space filler when they needed some more Decepticons for a shot?

Yeah, he got namechecked in three of the four episodes he appeared in. He wasn't crowd-filler, though, he was being sent off on missions with Laserbeak or came out as big of a mass-eject by Soundwave (hence his name being called).

I always figured Soundwave liked to keep Buzzsaw and Frenzy in reserve so he'd always have backup in a fight even if the "a" tapes were out on a mission. The dinos and later cassettes I never really counted since they didn't properly fit in my soundwave toy anyway...

They had their 3 seconds of fame, AND they transformed, ON SCREEN! Isn't that brilliant, 3 seconds, and we get to see both their modes :D

Please don't troll, in the G1 cartoon Rumble was blue, that's how the whole stupid argument came about in the first place.

I guess Frenzy wasn't used as much since he only really showed up in season one and two once Rumble was already well established. Buzzsaw? he came with soundwave so they probably didn't see the need to bother.

But the G1 toon is not the "beginning and end" of G1.

Its actually the last of the 3 mediums to be released on the market.

Wow, I don't remember that at all. I think I saw more than one condor in the occasional scene, but I have no recollection of Buzzsaw actually getting a namecheck! If anyone can point me to a clip that includes this, I'd be much obliged.

Still, Buzzsaw is probably the most under-represented Con in the first season. Mabye the second season too! (barring those who never appeared in the cartoon continuity AT ALL). Even Frenzy got more screen time, and the occasional line, even if functionally he was just Rumble 2.0, and coloured wrong anyway.

Ah, ah... not blue... PURPLE. :)

I believe 2 of the episode in which his name is mentioned was "Auto-berserk" and "Atalanta arise"
