I liked Skyquake. But anyway, the Cons were better in this episode. Although the generic Decepticon troopers still sucked. I hope we see more of Soundwave and Dreadwing. They're the only competent Decepticons. Although, That's probably why they're the most underused Decepticons. Crappy writers.

Also, why did they send Vehicons instead of Insecticons? Megatron has at least a hundred of them. Surly he could spare four or five for each group. This is why I hate Decepticons having an army.

The Beast Machines comparisons I'm seeing in this thread are pretty unfair.

I remember when it aired, the fandom basically combined into a gestalt called Shitstorm who complained about lots of things including how Megatron's victory made all of Beast Wars pointless.

Shitstorm went onto flatten a shopping mall before his rampage was stopped by Crippletron.

While this week did give us a Decepticon getting a draw with Prime and someone other than the Autobots getting a useful McGuffin it's a bit early to say the show has reached a turning point when the Decepticons do more than just get their metal butts handed to them.

Not fair comparation. Cee and Bee had the kids with them, who actually give a +3 plot armor and a + 5 luck bonus circunstance to any nearby autobot.

Even I got to admit, that the big named Cons didn't feel like comically inept villains this week. The problem is that this should be the norm not a rare event. The writers continue to show is that they don't know how write the outnumbered heroes winning fights without making the villains look like morons and having the heroes come off looking untouchable, this weeks Thundercats once again showed how this should be done, and this is also why I hate the Cons having larger numbers if they can't be used right(Mumm'ras Forces)than they lose the ability to be viewed as a credible threat to the Bots and Earth. Sometimes I wander if the writers of Beast Wars and Animated decided to have the factions be about even in numbers, so this problem wouldn't exist.

The named Decepticons being a serious threat IS the norm rather than a rare exception.

I suspect, that someone could already have noticed it, but I want to bring a thought.

There is a way, that the Decepticons, mostly, are formed of lost guys, not heavy (brutal) criminals, homeless and so on, so, there are no good specialists on their side. They are, mostly, low ranks and underpaid common labors.
And they are doing odd-jobs, being on the Megatron's side now. For example, KnockOut doesn't seem to be a good doctor. I may be wrong, but it seems, that he can perform his duty, resting upon some perfunctory knowledges, wich he had picked up by occasions.

But I presume, that KnockOut has had enough opportinities to study and learn something from source, that I expect to be available for everyone, actually.
Even Megatron was able to create a virus, so, this is not a problem for the Transformers to become a better specialist, than they generally are.
