I usually can't access tfwiki when on my usual computer because for some reason its blocked by the system my school put on it but why is there so much hate for te beast. From what i've read on tfwiki on library computers it seems an interesting and positive idea and it looks awesome. I dont understand why every one hates it.

 

It represents some of the worst fanfic stereorypes. "Let's have the Dinobots combine!" The story doesn't explain why they can combine, it just implies that they can but never bothered to before. The entire story has little plot other than "some fighting happens, and then things go horribly wrong", and the writer has been very defensive over his story, insisting that he had limited space to tell his story so he didn't bother with exposition, and shows contempt for those who don't "understand" it.

Nevermind that other writers have been able to tell much more coherent stories with limited available space. Mosaics, anyone? Earthforce? Linkage? It's not a matter of space, it's a matter of skill and willingness on the writer's behalf.

"The Beast Within" was really just a dumb "DUUUUDE, let's have the Dinobots combine and slaughter everyone, that's to-tal-ly RADICAL AND AWESOME!" 90s Kid would love it.

 

I wanted a story about Transformers, not a Slasher villain.

 

The idea of the Dinobots combining doesn't sit well with me in principle anyway.

 

Lets not forget, its a hideous looking thing

 

Because it's possibly the ugliest thing I have seen in my life, and having a Dinobot combiner was to please the fans, but instead ruined the dream by having a stupid, ugly character with an awful character.

 

Not forgetting to mention the weird metalic tendrils in which they use to combine.

 

Because it managed to look more like Hentai than Kiss Players, with robo-ero guro thrown in for good measure. Overall just bad. Bad bad bad.

 

Honestly, I think that had it at least looked nicer, the Beast might have been better received.

 

I think the idea of a Dinobot combiner is already just a sort of unmitigated fanboy fantasy anyway, but the presentation of The Beast feels like a fluff piece (which the dinos don't really need). It feels very out of step with...everything.

The Beast was an abomination and should never have existed.

 

Dinobots combining ... it just doesn't work. I see the main purpose of combiner teams is to become stronger. Having Dinobots combine makes me feel as if they are weak as individuals essentially removing the persona I feel Dinobots are associated with: they are the last line of defense for the Autobots, they are the strongest, they don't need combination for anything.

 

Why all the hate for The Beast?

While I like the idea of the Dinobots combining, the execution of the Beast was horrible, imho. What I've heard of the story sounds really bad, and the look of them combined was terrible.

 

It's no dumber than having hundreds of Sweeps combine.

Simply because YOU think it looks good doesn't mean that's suddenly truth, because quite honestly it's far from it. Let's take another look at it, shall we?

There are MANY, many ways to make an actually decent Dinobot combiner and Beast is NOT one of them. Along with the fact the Dinobots suddenly combine to form this bastard child of a fandream out of nowhere and easily beat the crap out of the supposed best combiner ever (Predaking) like nothing, the actual look of Beast suggests this thing is suddenly ripping through metal and forming holes in ways metal does not actually form holes. And then there's that weird deal with how the hell Gimlock's T-rex head suddenly has a TFA-ish melty head that's three times smaller on it. If PCC did ANYTHING right, it was make a Dinobot combiner that didn't suck as hard as Beast by virtue of looking GOOD.:
