So with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse out tomorrow, let's talk about which Spider-Man foe is pretty much your all time favorite.

Pretty much for me would have to be none other than Mysterio. Due to his character design being the definition of a special effects wizard, but with a fishbowl head, and the use of illusions and theatrics for his criminal endeavors. And that when I was a kid, I was a fan of the Game boy advance game, Mysterio's Menace.

Doc Ock. Spider-Man 2 in particular sold me on him.

Green Goblin (Norman or Harry), Doctor Octopus, Lizard in his early appearances. Really anyone from the Ditko run.

My knowledge of Spidey is mostly from films/TV, I hope that's okay.

Green Goblin (Norman and Harry Osborn)
    Doc Ock
    Sandman (cool powers IMO)
    Venom
    Kraven the Hunter
    The Rhino
    The Lizard
    Mysterio
    The Vulture

    I really can't decide.

    Don't forget:
    Morbius
    Kingpin
    Shocker
    Beetle

Actually, the one that always made me smile was Batroc on the Unlimited cartoon.

Honestly, I liked it better when he faced F4 or X-MEN foes. Spiderman & His Amazing Friends is a favorite for that reason.

Batroc is a Cap villain, but yeah, he's funny.

It seems like it changes as Spider-Man leaps from creative team to creative team. The 60's cartoon I loved Scorpion, but in Into the Spider-verse I just didn't like the Scorpion version at all. Live action I'm still sticking with Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2. The comic books are always finding some new interesting takes on even the classics so that Electro is now a woman who has to hear what a nutter the original Electro was from the villains who worked with him.

I think this is why the villain team ups are so fun because our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has such a wealth of great villains.

Do Venom and Carnage count? I've always liked them.

If they don't count, then I would say Doc Ock, The Rhino, and the Lizard.

Of course they count, though your other choices are good too.

I always love that in most continuities, he's the villain that J. Jonah Jameson helps create. My ideal movies with him would have both that and the Spider Slayer robots with JJ's face on the monitor-heads (though I think the MCU's already introduction of Gargan may mix that idea).
