Heh heh...anyone who hates that shootout scene scene is gonna have kittens over the Hit Girl sequences... Saw it last weekend. One of the best movies I've seen in a very long time, with the only child character I can remember in film history who actually makes an awesome film EVEN MORE awesome by a factor of ten.
I thought the film was pretty good but a lot of it was spoiled by too much stuff being put in the trailer. Hit Girl does steal the film though.
Going on Friday with my friends, then Sunday with my wife. This weekend is gonna... er... well, you know.
The title of this thread cracks me up. Glad to hear so many people like the film. Going to see it tomorrow.
Just got back from this movie... what a steaming pile of... AWESOME! Pure, unspoiled awesome! I had to fight the urge to stand up and cheer at several scenes... that has NEVER happened to me. One hell of a ride See this immediately! Great action, good story, terrific writing (down right hilarious at times). SEE THIS!
Well, looks like the film has some good reviews. I'm still uncertain as to whether this is a cinema trip or a Netflix rental. In the comic, Hit Girl was my least favorite aspect of any of the books as her character didn't seem to fit the tone that was initially developed and forced the story into some awkward contortions. Perhaps it deserves another read.
Apparently the Hollywood suits wanted the movie to be PG and they wanted to take Hit Girl outta the thing all together. The guy who made the movie was like, fuck that, and pretty much made the movie independently. There still is good in the world I guess. Anywho, I wanna see it.
I'm going to throw this in. If you know modern comics, you know about kick-ass. And you know Big Daddy > Batman. Keep an open mind dude and do some research before posting. You might not have gotten the minor flame you're getting.
Excellent movie. I even dig the changes from the comic. I thought it sucked that Kick Ass went thru all of that pain and didn't get the girl in the comic. Yeah it's more realistic which was the over-all theme of the story, which is why I like this version better. *Edit* BTW, Waverider, the only way this will work is if you put a spoiler tag over what you quoted me on
I think what sold the film version of Big Daddy for me is that (A bit of a spoiler) Spoiler It's not just a parody of one Batman. It's basically Movie Batman in costume, 30's Batman in terms of using guns and killing people (though it's more of a Punisher riff), and ADAM WEST in speech mannerism.
Sorry, after 52 posts, I didn't think it'd be much of a spoiler. Wait, haven't you already seen it? How is it a spoiler to you, mate.
Kick-Ass Saw this tonight - great stuff. Ultraviolent and funny in many places. The audience actually applauded at the end.
Okay you cunts lets see what you can do People were either laughing when Hit Girl said that or were horrified by the sea of profanity she kept on spewing. I could care less I spent so much time laughing during the film I couldn't really pay attention to anything.
