I saw him and was like who is that. He looks pretty nice and I may pick him up.

That's Big Convoy from the Japanese Beast Wars Neo line.

It was brought out here as part of the Universe Line as a repainted Target exclusive named Nemesis Prime.

I highly recommend getting a version of him. I got the Nemesis Prime version, and he is one of my favorite toys. He has a ton of weapons and stuff, including his huge gun.

Great figure... bad Transformer. In other words, very complex, kibble-fied transformation but robot mode is just awesome. Plus you get a holdable version of the matrix which I thought was awesome. 25 bucks for the korean version at otfcc '03!

You said "wooly" so I hoped you had found a plush Big Convoy :lol
I love that figure (see my sig :D ), though if you like to pose them in beast mode, there's not much you can do with Big Convoy.
But like other people say, the robot mode is just awesome.

I paid $25 shipped from an online store.

I do suggest getting Big Convoy. It is articulated and armed to the tooth. Best beast fig ever, IMO

I am getting the Nemesis Prime but I really want the limited black version. Where can I get it and how much will it set me back?

Big Convoy is merely a legend in the collection of Autobot Dave.

Some nights, around the campfire, Masterpiece Convoy speaks of the legendary wooly Matrix-bearer. The rest of the collection scoffs at the visitor from the land of the rising sun.

Then he opens fire on 'em.

    We don't have many campfires.

He's a freaking bitch to transform, I'll tell ya that. Making sure all the skin panels line up right and stuff... worse than alt Grimlock.

He's not that hard to transform... with practice, it's *almost* easy. Kinda. Sorta. Still waiting for a Robotmaster version of Big Convoy.

Like others have said, he is a good toy, but a son of a bitch to transform. I termed him a "fiddly-damn transformer" Get one. I have the Korean version and the Nemesis Prime version.

    Keep waiting. RM's dead.

And for the record, I've never had a problem transforming him (Nemesis Prime version). Took me five minutes for the first time out of package, and I didn't touch the instructions.

I bow to your superior powers of transformation, sir. Had I your abilities, I would sell myself on e-bay. :)

Heh. Took me 2 days. I tried for a while the first day I got him, gave up, and tried again the next day.

Of course it really didn't help that the instruction were for beast to bot, and it came in bot mode.

I know what you mean. After getting 2 with robot mode (Sonokong, Hasbro) and having 2 mammoths with gaps, I was eagerly waiting for Takara version to see it in the proper all gaps closed beast mode.

I opened the box and took some pics of the beast.
Then my son TFed him to the bot while I was not looking.

My mammoths still have gaps. But it doesn't worry me that much because they stay in bot mode anyway :(
