Hasbro stated at Botcon that they were going to discontinue the Titanium line after War Within Prowl. They sited cost and distribution as the two main reasons.

Obviously from my thread title I would like, no LOVE, to see the line continue. There is no doubt that the first two figures that were released in the line, Optimus and Megatron, were horrible in design quality control and paint applications.

The designs and quality control have continued to improve with each figure. Granted there are still some hit and misses with quality control for some figures (WW Megatron's arms/shoulders, The Fallen's lack of pegs for a tight tank mode, etc), but now we have Titanium Beast Machines Cheetor. All ball joints are tightm all other movements/limbs/ are tight, the transformation is simple yet elegant, and paint applications are spot-on smooth (had to say it).

I am so very much looking forward to War Within Prowl, and hopefull WW Grimlock. It just makes no sense for Hasbro to quit this line as it is hitting it's stride.

    Thoughts?

Not really, no... frankly I'm happy to see it go.

While there were a few decent figures, for the most part the line was (IMO) really weak. It was plagued with clunky designs, over-simplified transformations, and quality-control issues.

If Hasbro wants a "collector's line" alongside its main lines, I would MUCH prefer that line to be either Classics/Universe or Alternators.

i would prefer the abandoned designs be carry forward into the upcoming mainline. micromachine/galoob sucked at making proper TFs.

Nope, wouldn't care if they continued it. Alternators line thought, I miss.

I would like them to continue, but under Hasbro's banner, not cheap-ass Galoob. And I wouldn't care if they were all plastic, as long as the designs remain interesting.

I'm not bothered about it ending since we're getting more Classics instead. As a rule I liked them better than I liked the Titanium series (although ideally Universe / Classics 2.0 would carry on doing the kind of stuff that Titanium was doing as well as more Classics - the odd Cybertron mode character wouldn't go amiss)

While some designs may have improved since the first two, I think every single figure made and the unreleased planned ones would be immensely better figures done as Classics by eliminating the troublesome heft die cast can inflict and by giving the engineering entirely over to the more experienced regular TF designers rather than the Micro Machines people.

So, no, I don't want it to continue, though I do want the Shockwave, Arcee, etc. designs ported over to Universe/Classics 2.0 and improved.

I would like the designs to continue, but only the 6 inch ones, but all in plastic. I enjoyed the fact that they could make a figure from anyline from any generation. Maybe we will start to see this in universe.

Wouldn't that make this just the "6" line", then?

It was just getting good. The last wave was great, the next wave looks better, and the cancelled wave looked like it was the best yet. This is madness. :sparta:

I never really thought any of the figures were good.
But, WWI screamer was a great figure but was really bad with all that titanium.

i think the problem with this line was that the good figures were really good and the bad ones were really bad.i'd like to see more, myself, but remaking these in plastic in the 2008 line(s) might not be a bad idea.i do say, however that the 3" figures are a waste of money.i personally avoid non-transforming tf toys, but if you like little statue-type collectibles, robot heroes is clearly the way to go.optimus vs. ravage is actually the only non-transforming tf merchandise i've bought besides the odd bit of apparel.
if it comes down to these or the star wars tf's,i say "hell yes" to titanium continuing.
but then,i never saw the draw of sw tf's-as i said, maybe i'm just not big enough a sw fan.

Zinc. Die-cast toys are made of zinc, not titanium. 'Titanium' is a trademark, not an indication of the material content.

I knew it was gonna bomb right from the beginning. I'm glad it's gone, I just wish we got the 6" Skywarp before they cancelled it.
