Aaaaaaaanyways... watched me some TF:TM Reconstructed the other day and enjoyed it greatly. Kinda makes me wanna rewatch all the G1 cartoon now. And it's been ages since I've watched my Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory DVDs so I might squeeze those in too for the full hit.

I agree it is not bad and really is quite an okay movie but I have to say it is really over rated. Although I do understand that for some people its very nostalgious. So they can rememeber watching it as a kid. However for me some parts feel too kiddish. However the dark parts in the movie make up for it and even it out.

 

It didn't suck in the context of past tense and being a kid. I rented that movie more then any other vhs in my life. For me it was emotion filled, action packed and kept me hooked.

If I were to watch it fresh and new today then maybe it isn't as great but I didn't so I have to disagree with the op on this.

 

How ignorant are you? Every episode of every transformers show ever including the movies are just toy commercials. Seriously people are just flat out weird.

Yeah, I think it sucked quite bad and hardly even classifys as a movie: The script is extremly bad, it only exists for one single purpose and nothing else (To sell toys) and is overall an extremly soulless... thing.

 

Compare it to other toy commercial movies from the eighties.

Its a work of art compared to them.

 

Every transformers episode ever exists soley for this exact purpose. What the fuck happened to this community? You think Prime, or Animated are different?

AGREED!!!!...the only series i watched for the sole purpose and enjoyed for the actual story was BW..everything else was for the purpose to sell bots..half the crap in Prime is ******ed,to the point i cant even watch it any more and all but given up on it../half the crap in G1 was ******ed(but still loved above all others)..and serves no purpose other to push the transformer toy line...BW made the most sence of them all to me..and im a G1 fan whos still not that fond of BW toyline but man did it have awesome plot lines....BW is the only series i watched to watch and didnt care about if the toys were cool or not..

 

I agree. The complete lack of respect for the roots of TF is beyond me.

The Turtles/Voltron/He man/GI Joe/thundercats etc were ALL meant to sell toys, obviously.

People just go on and on bashing anything G1, it's just getting predictable and old quite frankly

The shows have nothing on the Marvel US comics for being a giant toy commercial - at least the TV show didn't try to shove every current toy into it.

I stopped actiely reading several times, cuz characters would just disappear, with some noob showing up - who was currently in stores.

Love TFTM - super-awesome piece of cinema? No, but for when it came out it was fairly good.
