To me it feels like G1 for a new generation of fans.
Anyone else feel the same way about it?
Im 33 years old, i only liked G1 when i was a kid and teen
Now animated has shown up im a kid again and lovin it
TFA is it's own show, and to be honest it's of a higher standard that the G1 cartoon, although it hurts me to say that...
It has a G1 written all over it.
G1 is the starting point for the show.
But it does veer into it's own little world.
No, it is not G1 reborn. It does have similarities, but so does pretty much every other TF show we've gotten since G1. Every series has a group of people that can call it their "G1" (basically the show that got them into Transformers). Personally, my "G1" is RID.
My "G1" is Beast Wars. Animated is my "Beast Wars".
My G.1 is G.1 Season 3.
Personally,it's not entirely G1.We also have a fusion of BW characters and newly created characters.
The similarities start with characters DESIGN homages and ends with a voice or two.
Thats not entirely the case G1 was my G1 but I like BW more than G1 and like Animated more than BW to me Animated is like "ultimate transformers' its exactly what ive wanted for a long time honestly the movie and its toyline were such a letdown for me, universe was what I wanted 5 years ago but now it just doesnt do it for me I was at the point where I was going to largely give TFs away didnt intend to collect the toys or comics and hell I havent watched a full series of the cartoon since BW I would have just gone and seen the movies and that would have been it Animated totally reinvigorated my interest in Transformers for me it was exactly the right thing at the right time.
I think you missunderstood me. My basic point was that every TF series we've gotten so far has people who got into Transformers do to that series (what I meant by their "G1". It may not be their favorite of the shows, but it's the one that got them to watch Transformers. Personall I did occasionaly watch Beast Wars, but I never really got into it untill RID came around. Ever since then I've been a fan, and Cybertron got me into collecting.
Same with me. I couldn't watch Beast Wars at all. I love fact that G1 was cars and planes, things we all loved growing up as a kids. Now that Animated is around I'm a kid all over again.
I think it is more an re-hash of the movie then G1. Same plot.
I say kind of. This is it's own thing but it's kind of prequel G1 when you think about it. It takes place before the War (atleast the war this will focus on) and you see some of our favorite characters mature and see their origins. I think this will stand alongside G1 and Beast Wars as some of the series' best.
Kind of. Not G1 but heavily inspired by G1.
It's "The Transformers" done over to the standards of today's kid television, obviously using the characters, ideas, and some story from the original. That's how I've always thought it to be, so yes, I pretty much agree with you.
not to sure its a prequal, if you remember prime was going through the history tapes at the start of the 1st episode and it was blatant G1, i think this is defo after the main war but with a different take on the transformers arriving on earth and starting the war all over again (why tread old ground when it comes to the war on earth)
i dont feel its g1 reborn, however I do feel that the reason why some people feel it is g1 reborn is becuase animated copied g1's main story points
Like 99% of the rest of Transformers Series
