I've been playing games on xbox live for nearly a year now...and while i've bumped into a lot of really rude people, everyone has been nice to me once they find out i'm canadian. it's almost bizarre how people are just nice to me. but today, i found myself playing COD 4 with a couple of dudes from scotland. they were talking to each other, and i was just listening...until i said "jackass" when i sniped a guy using juggertwat. one of them immediately said: "shut the f*ck up poho, you're f*cking american," and proceeded to say more nasty things about the USA. i then said that i was canadian, to which he responded: "that's even worse! canada is like america's rejects." they went on to mock my national anthem, say that everyone in canada is a bad person, that it is a lame and boring country with nothing to do, accused as all of being pot heads, and making generalizations about our entire population because one of these fellows had once played against a canadian soccer team and beaten them badly. after the match was done i told them off and filed complaints about both of them. i'm usually lenient with smack talk because i realize that most people on the internets are just idiots, but these guys really hit home. and to be honest, this is the first time i've heard anyone badmouth canadians besides peter griffin.
