Starscream's death by Sam was and still is quite disappointing, clearly. Who do you feel should've murdered the air commander other than Sam?

Myself: Megatron, Dino or Que, maybe Bumblebee.

I didn't mind that it was Sam, though Lennox would have been a better fit. Just... not like that. Some smarmy, arrogant quip from starscream as he dangles the human in front of his face, witty retort, boomstick in the eye, 1 2 3 boom. No flailing, no chasing, no "I KICK you!", just his head a splode.

 

There's no question that Sam should have killed Starscream, if anyone was going to. The only other character with any history with Starscream from the previous films was Optimus, and he had enough killing to get to.

The problem is that the actual sequence in which Sam kills Starscream was insanely unbelievable. It was like a cartoon. A better action sequence with Sam and the Autobots would have been much more enjoyable.

 

Too bad the Autobots didn't have an actual flier in the movies - seeing Starscream go down in a dogfight might have been better. A lot of twisting and turning, transforming back and forth to fire weapons....oh the possibilities.

 

In the novel it was Soundwave that killed Dino.. I was actually looking forward to that in the movie, just because I wanted to see heads roll around.

 

To bad breakaway wasn't in the movies.. he'd of given ss a run for his Energon!

 

this would've been a great opportunity to bring in breakaway or air raid. have air raid transform into robot mode, leap onto starscream in jet mode, who transforms and smacks breakraid down before breakraid transforms into jet mode and they have an aerial pursuit before breakraid takes out a bomb and throws it onto starscream...

damn.

Starscream's death was fitting of his character. A cowardly, snivelling, incompetent bully, much like in G1, Animated, TFP, Unicron Trilogy--wait, everything. So any SS could have died that way.

He was so careless and cocky, even when Sam had weapons of HIS caliber, that he let himself get hit like an idiot and was taken by surprise.

Could the fight have been more fitting? Absolutely not. Did he deserve better? Absolutely not. Could the fight have been more epic? Yes. Therefore, I would not actually change this, but if I did have to, I would have Ratchet kill him, to give the guy more screen time.

 

Or Springer.

 

Except in Armada where he sacrificed himself.

 

I think Lennox would have been cool.

Starscream holds him from the feet in front of his head, going "Look into my eyes when you die!"

Lennox goes like "NOPE" and shoves the boomstick right up Screamer's eye, boom.
