Other than Corey Burton, who do you think should voice everyone's favorite cyclops in the new movie?

My vote goes toward either Kelsey Grammer or Alan Rickman.

    QFT.

But seriously, Corey Burton is the best choice, with a touch of synthesizing. If no Burton, get Alan Rickman. Kelsey Grammar wouldn't be a bad idea either...

James Woods. Listen to his work in Crisis on Two Earths. He's perfect.

Jeremy Irons would be good too.

Whoever would fit the character they're going for. But if I had to choose, I'd go with Alan Rickman, who should do a voice that's halfway between Shockwave and Snape.

Leonard Nimoy. Shockwave was originally designed as an evil Spock, so...

I could certainly go for Doug Bardley or Alan Rickman too.

Corey Burton is listed on the DOTM Imdb page as being the voice for Shockwave. It's only an IMDB page, but there's certainly hope for this being true.

I disagree. Corey Burton's great and all, but I'd like to hear a new interpretation for the character.

Peter Cullen has always been the only voice actor that I've thought was irreplaceable. He is Optimus Prime, and I can never picture him being voiced by anyone else (unless they're impersonating him). All of the other bots are ripe for the picking, though (in my opinion).

Come on now. I know you had to have read my opening post.

Try to use your imagination and be more flexible. You'd be surprised where being open-minded can get you.

    Don't even joke, man.

I met him a few weeks back, and his voice would be perfect. Especially if it'd be digitally enhanced. His Pinhead voice lacks emotion, and is basically cold and direct. Modify that a bit, and you have Shockwave.

Sadly, he'll probably end up being voiced by some 'now' actor.

That's the idea, though - Shockwave is emotionless by nature. A creature of pure logic.

Still, I'm glad someone agrees with my choice. Mad props for meeting the master. :thumb

David Warner - the actor who Burton based the Shockwave voice on in the first place!
