Almost everyone agreed that Micheal Bay destroyed the TF franchise with his crappy live-action films. So which movie director should direct the next installment of the Transformers film?

    I go for James Cameron.

Bay didn't destroy it, he didn't harm it. He created a transformer series in his vision which has been a financial success.

On the contrary. The Transformers franchise has arguably never been stronger. At the very least, it's the strongest its been since the 80s.

The fact that the live action movies were a poorly written mess of unrealized potential is irrelevant.

He may have done it injustices, but he didn't destroy it. Ironically, he helped it grow.

To answer your question, I'd be okay with another Bay one, but if not him Spielberg would be the most realistic choice.

Bay did NOT Destroyed the Franchise, it is currently the 7th highest-grossing film series and the 4th highest-grossing when averaged to gross per film, behind the The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

If there's one type of movie fan I actually HATE, it'd be PURISTS. People who get pissed because the vision of an original concept has been altered by an alternate venue. Bay dd NOT mess up the Transformers franchise. Bay "recruited" MILLIONS of NEW fans, many of whom were unfamiliar with the original franchise. He may have changed some things during his movie making journey, but one thing he did NOT do was "destroy" anything. Props to Bay for his work. From many reports, Bay is an a-hole that is very difficult to work with, but the man knows how to make movies, albeit a certain type, but still, his movies make MONEY. People may talk crap about them, but that's AFTER they've paid their money to go SEE them. There are many directors that I don't even waste my time following. I've seen every one of Bay's movies. If you like action/sci-fi, then Bay is a good pick, straight up.

I would go for either James Cameron or Steven Spielberg. Bay is a good director, but he really could have made the triliogy better by giving greater depth to the character of the Transformers, as well as their history together.

I think his focus was more on making alot of money, than on making a really great film.

I agree with almost all other posts thus far. Bay didn't destroy them. Far from it, actually. Who knows where they'd be if it weren't for Bay.

Bay did not destroy Transformers. Not even close...the man deserves a lot more respect than he receives, he turned what people thought was going to be the most hilariously unreal stupid movie that looked like shit into, one of the greatest mind blowing visual displays and greatest highest making movies of all time.
I think thats a job well done in my books.
