While I miss Soundwave’s vocoded voice (or even his voice), it’s not too big a loss because his monitor face makes a brilliant new feature for the character and works just as well with his classic portrayal of being emotionless and chill. (I think some Autobots could have it, but not sure whom...) It also makes a great medium to communicate things: a diagram, radar, a photo, a heartbeat... it’s a gimmick on the same level as TFilm/PRIME Bumblebee’s use of audio clips, but a better one. The only issue is when it takes a crack: since the screen is also serving as the eye, it should be like having grit in your eye but worse. You shouldn’t really be able to see out of it. But the fact that Soundwave is able to do just contributes to his awesomeness. And on the whole it's still a fantastic feature.
