When i first saw the key in episode 25 I thought straight away that it was what a Prime-verse key to Vector Sigma would look like. When I found out next episode I was right I was so giddy !!!!

I said "I didn't" because I wouldn't have. It was spoiled for me by loud mouthed posters, that the key was going to be in the show via thread title. I wouldn't have otherwise though. I thought it was weird Optimus was giving him that, especially since we hadn't heard of it prior.

I didn't. When Prime was talking in part 2 I thought he was going to say "key to vector sigma" instead of "key to groundbridge supply," but after he said the latter I didn't have any suspicions that he was lying.

Vector Sigma is a supercomputer deep within Cybertron, it has the ability to create life (well a spark), it's something that's been discussed in Transformers fiction a fair amount.

    Enjoy!

I picked up on the fact that Optimus lied to Jack about the key right away, Optimus has a "tell" but he also knew that Jack wouldn't know better, so it worked. Optimus Prime always analyzes every possible outcome (it's why he doesn't party or laugh) and knew he had to protect the key, so no I wasn't surprised..by exhausting the Matrix, Optimus knew it would be a game changer, especially for him.

It was obvious Optimus was lying, and the key did look very much like the G1 shape of the key. Though, who really would have guessed theyd bring a 20 some year old Mcguffin out of retirement. If I remember, last time it was brought up was in beast machines.

Looking back at the scene, you can kind of tell he's lying because he looks back to see if anyone is watching him and he pauses before he says "the key to the ground bridge power supply."

I remember that it was a bit odd for there to be a key to the ground bridge supply and that it was kind of lame that OP gave him a key for that.

I'd read the Singapore spoilers, so I already know what was gonna happen. Would I have known? It's possible, Optimus did look like he wasn't being totally honest with Jack.

As others have said, you could tell Optimus was lying to Jack in episode 25 by his pause and facial expressions.

Maybe this is a sign that I'm watching too much transformers, but that's what I thought it was from the beginning, so I kinda wtf'd when Prime said it was for the groundbridge, but then it made sense when I thought about it afterwards. :)

I figured it was probably something special (like a piece or copy of the Matrix or something), but I didn't think Vector Sigma.

I was amused that the key transforms into itself, but smaller. :)
