Trying to conduct an unscientific poll here.

I did not know who overlord was before LSOTW. oh sure I probably had seen the figure but KNEW who he was? no.

So honesty in answering. Before Last Stand of The wreckers came out. How many of you would have been able to pick overlord out of a lineup and told someone who couldn't detailed information on the character?

Most certainly I did, and it's one of my TF Holy Grails to get a G1 Overlord someday. I'd think anyone who did a modicum of research into the japanese stuff would instantly know Overlord.

Guess it'd be like saying to a Power Rangers fan who was into sentai "Do you know who Big One is?" :)

I knew of him from his entry in Raksha's "Decepticon High Command" page, where she gives him a Dishonorable Mention. Raksha writes:

That entry was written years before LSotW was published, and after reading that comic, I feel it holds true. Overlord was a psycho brute with no real qualifications other than he was the strongest of the bunch.

Masterforce was a staple of my weekend mornings when I was a kid, so yes, I knew about Overlord. I rather prefer the Masterforce interpretation of him to the LSOTW version. And one of these days, I shall obtain a complete G1 Overlord - my grail of grails.

I knew Overlord from the Masterforce series that aired early morning before I left for school (college). He is my top 'Con and TF character for that series. For a 'Con leader, he has finesse and brutality, and none of the insanity. To me, he's what a 'Con leader should be like: big, elegantly brutal, and not insane.

Yes, ever since I got the toy back in 1991 when it was briefly available here in the gold box.

For me, LSOTW was a great chance to see the big guy in action outside of Masterforce, to see a new take on his character.

Yes, knew about him for a very long time, but I really have no interest in his toy.

I did, if only because he has a pretty interesting history in terms of distribution.

Discovered Overlord when I picked up a Hasbro UK TF catalogue at the beginning of 1991. After thumbing through various gold box Classics 'reissues', Micromasters and Action Masters - BEHOLD - this gigantic Decepticon on the last two pages.

To this day I still kick myself for not picking him up shortly afterward when he was on clearance in Woolworths for just £10.

I knew of Overlord prior to LSotW, but I didn't know much about his pre-existing character since the Japanese TF continuity makes my head hurt. His toy looks neat, but not something I could ever see buying since it's out of my price range.

Null vote - I knew of Masterforce tangentially in that geeky way you pick up on stuff over the years from comic shops and the internet, but I had no love for the character or his toy and don't consider him a grail or anything.

Which Overlord character are we talking about here?

Masterforce Godmaster Overlord, European Powermaster Overlord or Heroes of Cybertron Powermaster "Gigatron"?
