I don't pick scapegoats, why? Because as moneymaking machines go the Bay trilogy made an absolute asstonne of money, which is essentially the 'end of' argument.

Sure they could have been better in terms of story/characterisations etc but at the end of the day these are films based on an 80's cartoon (which when viewed without rose tinted spectacles isn't that great) and helmed by a director famed for car chases and explosions.

I like them for what they are, a reinterpretation of an old 80's property.

But the 80's property has been re-interpreted in much better forms many times (Beast Wars, TFA, Prime, IDW Comics). I strongly feel that we deserve better.

Transformers 1 was great,tf2 sucked if you can blame anyone for that id actually say its both the writers strike and spielberg himself, aparantly spielberg was the one who wanted alot of the shit stuff in the film people seem to forget he was involved and just point the fingure at bay. TF3 most probably dont consider a transformers movie but rarther an awesome action movie with giant robots that resemble the transformers.

If the fourth movie ends up making a ton of money and is still at the same quality of the last three then the only ones to blame are the people, myself included unfortunately. :(

How in hell do you do that ? The first time I watched ROTF from the internet, and my first reaction was "what the crap is this ?!"

Well said. Love your captain analogy !

LOL. You are GOLD sir (or ma'am) !

Plz. The movies by themselves are ALL GLORIFIED TOY COMMERCIALS. I'm only a hardcore fan of the comics, even less so with cartoons and movies.

    love your comeback ! lol

Oh come on, Bay had a measure of control over operations. King George was more or less a figurehead for England around that time. What with Magna Carta in place, among other things.

Michael Bay isn't a hard ass. More stubborn than anything, and all he's good for is action scenes.

tbh, without the movies being what they were i never would have gotten into collecting Classics as hardcore as I do now. So I don't blame them, I thank them. If anyone, I blame the modern audience for demanding movies like that.

Have you seen any other movies besides the Transformers trilogy? I understand you're a fan, but really?

If anyone would be to blame, I'd have to lay it at the feet of the director - because he is the final arbiter of what goes in the movie. A movie is, essentially, the vision of the director. Granted, there are others who can help to shape the director's vision along the way, but in the end...I believe it all falls upon the director.

I really don't believe that Michael Bay is a great director - that is to say, he's not the total package. Anything that is not action, is IMO, not very good. I don't find him to be a very good editor, either.

But, there's always the hope that he learns something along the way with each movie. DotM was better than RotF, so I'll give him that. And I think that Transformers 4 & 5, being shot at the same time, have a potential to be much better than what has come before. But we'll see in a couple of years.

I picked the producers. As much as I hate Bay, it was Spielberg who brought Bay in and is also the one who brought him back for 4th

Should have been multiple choice. But I can't *not* blame Michael Bay after seeing him on the ROTF extras asking for Devastator testicles on the scene, because they would be funny, as the animator cringes by his side.
