Chromia - Favorite Autobot (I hope she counts)
Vibes - Appeared in one panel of Dreamwave but is an important character in my fiction.
Crosshairs - I hope he counts
Slipstream
Blaster - Again does he count?
Barricade - I think he counts?

Seriously sometimes its hard to tell if a characters obscured or not.

Skyquake.

 

I've always liked Xaaron.
He's a non-combatant leader, but that doesn't mean he sits around doing nothing

 

I'd say Blaster & Barricade don't count.

Octus in appearance. Not only is he a six armed transformer which I'd say is pretty unique in itself, he turns into a Dalek.

 

Not counting anyone who's become prominent in More Than Meets The Eye (Swerve, Tailgate, Whirl, Skids, Misfire, Spinister, Fulcrum, etc.), I'd say...

1. Transmutate. I actually didn't like the character much until just a few years ago, but man, was he/she/they a tragic character, bringing two unlikely characters together as foils to each other's opposite natures, and in spite of their childlike innocence, their destruction was still sought by the Predacons, and their containment by the Maximals. Their tragic end was second only to the tragedy that it was never followed up on.

2. Prime Skyquake. Yeah, he was kinda there to be killed off by Bumblebee, but before his death, he was a pretty cool villain, being big and strong enough to take on two Autobots, one being Optimus Prime, and actually came close to winning. And who can forget the "BOW TO THIS!!!" exchange with Starscream?

3. Roadbuster. I've not seen much of any G1 Roadbusters, but I think he has a really cool design, much like Whirl. I also love DOTM Roadbuster. I like the DOTM Wreckers in general, but man, Roadbuster looked the coolest to me, and I loved his Irish accent.

 

Minerva. I mean, I always thought of her as an underrated and underused character. She does have a lot of potential as a character, and I really wish she appeared in a cartoon someday. I also wish that we get a Minerva toy in the Titan Masters line (not exclusives, please, 'cause those are hard to find in my place).

 

Agreed, Minerva is probably in my top twenty Transformers of all time. I hope they make Titans Return Deluxe Nightbeat then there is hope for Minerva.

 

Ah, that's pretty boss. I really wish they made both Nightbeat and Minerva. I like the Thrilling 30 Nightbeat, but I would love to see a proper Headmaster update.

 

I know I'm just about to post a quote on the first post on this old thread. Yet I have to share the same sentiments here with a shred of hope for Devcon.


I love this guy, he was a sign that their were Autobots that were underground freedom fighters against the Decepticon empire that held ties all over the galaxy which calls for world building that could match up to IDW MTMTE with how vast it could eventually become. I seriously wished this guy appeared in Season 3 since he could be a recurring character similar to Alpha Trion yet he shared the same fate of obscurity as the Female Autobots until they had a resurgence for being non-male robots that were in demand in fiction since before IDW gave us three prominent fembots from Dark Cybertron and more to come after.

Now since we are getting a Titan Returns Scourge that faithfully replicates the original Altmode with a few new touches. So since their is a similar build between the two in animation, along with when they did the Knights of Cybertron set with him and Knight Ginrai, perhaps they could retool Scourge and recreate Devcon into his own remold and Titanmaster to join the ranks of toyless characters such as Straxus(Darkmount), Arcee, and soon Alpha Trion & Scrounge.

Just remove the already disappointing wing shell piece, his disintegration cannon ray in alt mode, and remold the base body parts and Titanmaster to match his animation model to present Autobot Devcon!

If they can make a triple changing Sentinel Prime who was obviously supposed to and will be Astrotrain, AN Alpha Trion, who will most likely be remade into Weird wolf given an extensive retool for a figure with a lack luster robot mode to begin with, then they could easily do the same for Devcon along with say Nightbeat into Minerva with the same procedure applied.

 

As a couple of others have said, I really like the 1st wave con headmasters, particularly weirdwolf. Apeface too, which is as much to do with his cool ape, er, face - the red visor and robotic snout.

Runabout and muck are favourites too, despite their terrible toys; I really like their design and the idea that they go on chaotic road trips.

In terms of obscures without toys, I like Flame a lot, and the ancient autobot from Antilla in 'cosmic rust' always caught my imagination.

Oh, and goldbug - I've little attachment to bumblebee but really liked goldbug's design and colours, and the idea of him in general.

 

I have a feeling we might get one in the TR line. Probably from Takara.

If they do, then I really hope that it isn't one of those hard-to-find exclusives (looks at Adventure Runamuck).

 

Have I mentioned Obsidian on this thread yet? If not, OBSIDIAN! I love everything about him, his voice, design, altmode, consort, everything!

 

Soundblaster. Whether he is a rebuilt Soundwave or another dude entirely, he doesn't get much love!

 

Is he really that obscure? He's just Soundwave with a palette swap.
