Of all the Autobot/Maximal Sub-Commanders who is your favorite? And why? Who is your least favorite? Could you see a Second-In-Command switching a series and actually being Commander? Discuss...

P.S. - This is my final re-boot of the topic...I've added an off site poll...as there were far too many options...this should work better than having three different threads...OR...my recent try... Who is your favorite Autobot / Maximal Sub-Commander? ...so here we go...

Vote Here: Have your say: Who Is Your Favorite Autobot/Maximal Second-In-Command?

Results Here: Who Is Your Favorite Autobot/Maximal Second-In-Command? - Poll Results

Similar Thread(s): Who Is Your Favorite Decepticon/Predacon/Vehicon Second-In-Command?

[EDIT] JUST NOTICED ON THE POLL...THERE IS TWO OPTIONS "OTHER"...IGNORE THE FIRST OTHER..CHOOSING THE SECOND ALLOWS FOR YOU TO "WRITE-IN" YOUR PICK...

Rhinox in Beast Wars was a perfect example of a second in command. Cool-headed, kind, but gruff when the situation called for it. Good enough to be a leader in his own right and certainly when Optimus was incapacitated (or dead), but doesn't have the ambition to do it full time, and would prefer to bring up the back of the herd. Cheetor in Beast Machines was great too considering how far he had come since the beginning.

I really enjoy Prime Ratchet as the second-in-command. He's so flawed and petty and selfish sometimes, but he's still got the most authority besides Optimus himself, especially given they've been best friends for so long. I always find it interesting when there's a character who isn't the official second in command, but they're still in tight with the leader enough that they aren't considered one of the "common" soldiers, per say.

Ironhide in the Bay movies felt like a solid pick for second in command, since he had grown a tad more level-headed since the first movie and kinda felt like the big brother of the group for what screen time he got.

G1 Prime's executive team of Prowl for strategy, Jazz for special operations, Ironhide for field command. He never seemed to have just one S-i-C, but all three of them stepping up when their skills were needed.

    BW Rhinox.
A silent dependable guy who gets things done.
The guy was a rock in a storm.

Ultra Magnus. I see him as the Commander Riker of Transformers. A good leader who backs up his commanding officer.

Pretty much my boy UM. The Dreamwave MTMTE bio first line sentence by Prime pretty much sum up everything I want to say about UM:
    Profile:
[From the Personal Datatracks of Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader]

"Infinitely reliable, fair, and completely trustworthy, Ultra Magnus is an Autobot in whom I'd not only entrust my own life, but the lives of my soldiers as well"

I also like BW Rhinox as well. For some strange reasons, even back then when I was watching the Beast War show, I kept on thinking the writer will reveal that BW Rhinox is either the G1 UM or his descendant. Too bad, it didn't happen.

That would have been cool. I had always thought he might have been Ironhide.

Was Rhinox really second-in-command of the Maximals though? It always seemed like Rattrap was in charge whenever Primal wasn't around. Primal even put Rattrap in charge in "Chain of Command", when he got abducted. Rattrap even took command when Primal was killed by the Transwarp Explosion, and moved all of his "junk" into Primal's quarters.

Rhinox was definitely one of the better ones - as Windsweeper II put it, the guy was a rock. He was the guy who, when asked to do something, no matter what it was, he got it done.

The fact that someone like Optimus was willing to trust Magnus with the lives of his men says a lot about Magnus - if you care about your men, you want someone else who does as well.

Rhinox was the eternal second-in-command, always sliding into the number two position for any commander he had, whether it was Optimus or Rattrap. He was basically the anti-Starscream: a ground-pounding bruiser who lacked ambition and avoided the limelight, but was highly competent and utterly reliable, all without taking anyone's nonsense. Ask Dinobot in the episode Aftermath.

G1 season 3, it seemed like Springer was 2nd in command. He looked out for everyone, and wasn't such a blind follower to put up with poor decisions Rodimus made. 5 faces of darkness.

At first I wasn't keen on the idea of Megatron being an Autobot or Co-Captain, but now that we've seen a Megatron who regrets what he did, we can see the character in a new light. I like it and I hope they keep advancing his character.
