I remember watching the Optibotbus' review of the G1 Construticons and he maybe read on Hook's bio say that his is the Construticons' Second-in-Command than I think who is the Dinobots Second-in-Command? I know Grimlock is the Leader and all, but who is it.

IDW had Slag as the second-in-command. But other than that, it is up to personal choice, I guess.

Technically Grimlock as they listen first and foremost to Optimus, if you want to look at it that way.

Within themselves though, it seems that if Grimlock isn't present to command, the others come to a collective agreement on actions (which would seem to often be fishing in a wading pool).

I'm sure it definitely isn't Sludge. If anything it probably bounces between Slag and Snarl, depending on the situation. Sludge is too simple to lead, and to me Swoop doesn't feel like he'd care to lead. I think Swoop feels more like the 'do as yer told and go with the flow' kind of Dinobot.

I say Slag. He had all the answers when Sludge asked who to shoot. That's leadership material, right there.

If I remember right from the comics, isn't Slag also the one Dinobot to give Grimlock the most lip? I love these guys so much. I can never get enough of this subgroup.

Grimlock is first, second, and third in command. Slag is #4, and the other ones are #5 collectively.

I agree,Slag seems the most likely candidate. But as for Energon,I am not sure as I didn't get back into
TF's until Cybertron, but I would think in Energon,Grimlock would still be leader, but who knows.

Its Slag for me because he was the most vocal compared to the other Dinobots. Heck, he even dared challenge Grimlock in the animated movie! X)

I thought it was Swoop with him being the second smartest Dinobot.

Incorrect. If you watch the 20th Anniversary DVD with the fan commentary, Hitch points out the two (very brief) shots of Snarl. He's not prominent by any means, but he's there.
